I wish I could say it's that simple, but it really isn't.
They can't afford to overlook any conference opponent this year. South Carolina now has a QB and should be good on defense. Kentucky will be tough. Missouri has come within one or two plays of being us the last 2 years. State will be much improved.
All of these games are potential traps. After the product we saw on the field last year, the last thing this team should do is take an opponent lightly.

The entire East is really that way - overlooking Vandy could cost someone. Georgia should be the best team in the East, and probably will be, but as you typed ... it's hard to read the East this coming season, because who the heck knows what anyone really has?
I just don't see how there could be a better stable of RBs in the country than what UGA has returning, plus I like UGA's OLine and WRs.
Kentucky is really a conundrum to me.
UF ... we'll know a lot more about what kind of coach and staff they have after this season. Until then, who the heck knows?
UT ... after these past couple of years of chest thumping, watch them be really good this year. If not, Butch is probably in trouble.
Mizzou ... another bunch of question marks.
Vandy will be a tough out.
South Carolina - they have the potential to be very good on offense. Defense is a big question mark. Special teams has to improve KO and punt coverage, KO and punt returns, plus they lost Elliott Fry and their punter ... again, who knows.

I can see 7, maybe 8 wins for the Gamecocks - 8 wins would make me ecstatic if I was an USC fan

Always confident!
The West will be exciting...
alabama....will be alabama
auburn will be very good
LSU will be very good (offense?)
Ole Miss will be better than most think
A&M?
Miissippi State will be tough!
Arkansas?
gaytors suck!

I'd be really happy with 8 wins.
I think we upset the Gators in The Cock Pit this year but we have to go to Athens and Knoxville. We'd have to win three of our four non-conf games ... one of those being the sheep humpers in Cola. We'd have to find another five wins.
@Mizzou
@UT
@UGA
@A&M
Arkansas in Cola but Arkansas is going to be physical this year and we do not have the DLine yet.
UF in Cola
UK in Cola
Vandy in Cola
NC St in Charlotte
La Tech in Cola (Skip's return)
Wofford in Cola
Sheep humpers in Cola
Must win in bold so we gotta find a couple more wins in there somewhere.

The best chance since Saban has been at Bama. The worst competition since he has been there.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Georgia beats UT and Florida then losses to 2 of the other East teams and Auburn.

EVerybody's favorite team is a champion in May, June, and July.
August-Everyone is tied for first place.
September-The usual suspects fade early. Bye, Missou, Vandy, Arkansas, Ole Miss. Still a mob vying for first.
October-A&M looks to be the team to beat as we start the month. By Halloween, they are impersonating a nuclear sub in a crash dive. Bama, LSU and Auburn have separated from the pack. The East changes from week to week from UT to UF, then UGA as they keep knocking one another off. Miss State and UK and USC quietly fade from view.
Nov-The West is settled in a 4 week stretch when Bama faces Auburn and LSU. Auburn also has a hand in determining the East with the UGA game.
December- UF or UGA will face the winner of the Iron Bowl in Atlanta.

what's your level of confidence your team gets there?
Pretty damn confident.

as confident, going into a season, as I've been since Malzahn has been HC. Best overall roster, most depth, and best QB depth (and starter) he's had. Also, should be the most balanced offense he'll field. Possibly his best defense, pending some pass rush finding it's way, as well.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say this is the year that Kentucky makes it to Atlanta. I don't think they got enough credit for the way they finished the season (minus the bowl game). I also don't have much confidence in any of the other teams in the East.
