So some of y'all think that they'll put a team in the playoffs that lost to West Virginia (a 4-8 team).

You folks are some really stupid motherfrickers!

Definitely.

The only reason that we have this playoff is at the time, the SEC had won five in a row (four in convincing fashion). The playoff talk had been heating up since the SEC won their third in a row, but it just couldn't be done.

Then all of a sudden, its SEC v. SEC in the Championship Game, and they got that playoff done in a hurry.

I agree with most who say that the playoff would likely be FSU vs. Okie Lite and Ohio State v. SEC Champion this year. Alabama has a chance to back door in this year because of the BCS formula. The committee will end this.

If all hell broke out and Duke beat FSU, Michigan State beat Ohio State, Sooners beat Okie Lite and Texas beat Baylor, then Alabama might grab the 4 seed - but that's a lot of stuff that has to happen.

+1

Folks were pissed beyond their limits when LSU/Bama played in the BCSNC game in 2011. They couldn't see what this bullshite playoff committee will become.

coachcrisp, I don't think you fully understand the anti-SEC bias that exists outside the SEC.

They hate us. There's no way two SEC teams will ever make a four team playoff, in my opinion.

The entire rest of the nation is tired of the SEC. Not just winning, but the SEC-SEC-SEC arrogance. Newsflash- there are a lot more people in this country outside the SEC, than in SEC territory. I don't think anyone up North or out West really cares what we think, we're a relatively small, fairly backwards part of the population in their viewpoint.

Things were headed towards apathy. The NCAA and networks weren't going to allow it.

If the committee isnt interested in putting the 4 best teams in the playoff, we have big problems.
Are you implying Bama is one of the 4 best teams? Maybe they are. Maybe they aren't. The selection committee has opinions, just like sports writers and coaches. For me, I would hope they stick to conference champions, much less teams that don't even win their division.

There are not four better teams out there than Alabama. Even the media is saying despite the loss Bama and Florida state are the best two teams.

No, it worked to Alabama's advantage - clearly. Not saying you weren't deserving but with the playoff, it lessens the bias.

You can argue all day about who should/should not be in the playoff. With Bama's loss, they are still miles ahead of tOSU who is currently #2......which is bullshite. The playoff will weed out the bad hands, I just wish it were 8 teams instead of 4. Reminds me of Obamacare "well, we'll just see how it works and fix it along the way"

Was Bama the best team?

Then, exactly what are you saying and why are you saying it?

How does it lessen the bias? It appears to me we've regressed more towards the biased system we had before the BCS that everyone hated. Explain how it lessens the bias.

Gonna have to agree.

The selection committee is based purely off subjectivity and no transparency.

I don't understand why they don't just take the BCS Top 4.

At least, you know the formula for selection, and it includes computers which factor in a lot of objective measures such as strength of schedule, based off of opponents' records, where you won the game (home/away), etc.

Actually if you had cable or a satellite you could watch the national media instead of listening to your grandpas radio in your single wide.
