Somewhat, but not a lot.

By that system, Tennessee and South Carolina are both well ahead of Arkansas. Which isn't the case at all.

Tennessee is considered first four in, or out in most brackets. South Carolina is also now much closer to Arkansas in the brackets and has a worse overall record, and record vs. top 50 RPI teams.

When you really break down South Carolina's resume, its not that impressive. Over the last week they have had a chance to build on that by adding two top 50 wins and they haven't. If they don't get the shipped righted, they could find themselves as the 5 seed and no double bye in the SECt.

Vandy 49 RPI 3 SOS, 1 OOC SOS Top 50 Ws - @ Ark, @ UF, Iowa St, USCe Remaining Schedule @UT Miss St @ UK UF Say Vandy goes 3-1 down the stretch only losing at UK. 6 top 50 wins with one of the highest SOS in the country gets them in, RPI at that point would likely be low 40s as well. I don't particularly see it happening but even at 17-14 a team with the good wins and schedule VU has played is going to be hard to keep out of a 68 team field.

Barring a deep SEC tourney run, Wednesday is as close to an elimination game as you can get for Vandy and UT.

fricking hate the 8/9 seed. I'd rather if we can get a 10 or move up to 6 or 7 if possible.

6 is likely out of the question. I could see a 7 seed if Arkansas wins out and makes the SECT Championship game though.

And yes, Id rather be a 10 at this point. Lunardi has Arkansas playing Kansas is round 2

There's just almost no hope having to play Villanova, Gonzaga. Etc in the second round. I'd even rather take a play in game and the 11 seed than a 8 or 9.

Don't want to be the eight or nine seed. That matchup with #1 second round blows .

Lunardi has #9 Arkansas playing #8 Northwestern with the winner facing #1 UNC in his latest mock. So much can change the next two weeks though.

Im holding out hope for a 7 or 10 seed in Tulsa playing 2 seed Baylor in the 2nd round.

The committee that last few years seems to really try and keep teams in their close region for better ticket sales.

That would be awesome. Arkansas would get a great fan contingent if they made it in that bracket.

Tulsa would be sold out for that regional.

Possibility of Kansas, Arkansas, Baylor in that region.

Right now, USA today has 1 Kansas vs. 16 North Dakota, 8 Northwestern vs. 9 Arkansas, 2 Baylor vs. 15 Furman, 7 Xavier vs. 10 Cal

If Arkansas could some how fall to the 10 and play Xavier or move up to the 7. I like our chances against Baylor in the second round versus Kansas.

If the 8 is Northwestern, then Arkansas won't need to worry about the 1.

Why? it's not like they're that great. Definitely a very winnable matchup

NW isn't great by any means in a weak BB conference this year.

I actually watched their game with Rutgers Saturday. No way the team I watched beats this Arkansas team right now.

Not enough weight on conf record:

wonder why you think that....

Your team would just embarrass itself if it made the tourney, similar to 1-9-17

Overall record has to matter some. If you are 8-24 and you beat Kansas, Baylor, North Carolina, Duke, Gonzaga, Ucla and Wisconsin, you still aren't getting in at 8-24

No way teams are getting at large bids at 15-15
