We'll have a worse loss than #88 in the next two weeks. Stay tuned.

Good news is we really only have 1 totally embarrassing loss so far as a conference (thanks clanga).

That's improvement!

Also, much closer to the middle of the pack than to the American and A-10. Better than some previous years. Need to win a few of these upcoming Top 50 OOC games and not lose anymore games to teams like Southern (COUGH COUGH CLANGA COUGH).

How is Arkansas losing to Georgia tech a bad loss when Georgia tech is higher ranked?

Bad loss is relative, but I listed all losses to teams ranked under #85 in the KenPom rankings.

These are really the only 3 bad losses so far. Southern is obviously a terrible loss and COC and Mason are picked to finish near the bottom of the CAA and A-10.

I love basketball season, and it feels good to have a little renewed excitement in our own program (even though we still aren't real good).

Hope the league keeps playing relatively well and gives all of us a chance to beat each other and have legitimate chances at the postseason come March.

I saw the Wichita State game, but how did Bama do against ND? We're shots finally dropping, were y'all just crushing them down low, or was it like Wichita State where you basically took away anything underneath and made them shoot from the perimeter?

I honestly think we played about as well as we could play. We started off red hot making every shot we took. Granted, they were good looks, open looks that were created through good offense, but we still generally can't make them. Then we cooled off and Notre Dame made a run and for the rest of the game we pretty much drove the lane and either made contested shots in the paint or kicked out and made outside shots.

Our big guys basically played Auguste to a draw and we ran the best offensive sets I have seen since......I don't know, ever?

Notre Dame was flat early but they were balanced in the 2nd half once Auguste got some looks down low. They did a lot of inside kick out action and got some open 3's, but we switched zone to man to zone quite a bit and it stole us a few possessions.

I don't think Wichita is much more than a bubble team, especially without Van Vleet, but that Notre Dame team was a solid ballclub. That was the best full basketball game we have played in 3-4 years.

I wasn't really impressed with Wichita and their record speaks for itself. But the ND win is legit. The Colorado game has me a little worried about our bigs but they were going up against a freaking stud in Scott. Harris has some nice post moves but hasn't been very good on defense. Horace Spencer is the exact opposite of Harris.

Yea, Wichita is going to be a steal of a win for us (I don't know why I say this, we won't be going to the NCAAs so our resume talk is moot) because Van Vleet will come back and they will win a bunch of games in the Missouri Valley and end up with an RPI of 40 or 50.

I've watched Auburn quite a bit between UAB, Ga Southern and Colorado, and they just kind of seem to be working out playing together. There are a lot of talented parts on that team, especially on offense. Once Pearl gets them all to trust eachother and establish roles that is going to be a super explosive team. And that doesn't even include Purifoy. In a league full of teams who struggle to eek out offense Auburn is going to win a few games just because they will give a normal offensive performance and the other team will shoot poorly (UGA, Bama, Arky, Mizzou, State, TN, etc come to mind).

And, outside of Kentucky, probably not going to play many other teams with bigs like Colorado has.

Where are these rankings coming from?

I know Alabama is off to a fairly hot start, but a #44 ranking for Wichita State looks a bit generous.

Wichita is currently 1-4 and sits at #257 in the RPI. Hard for me to believe any service that has a 1-4 team ranked in the Top 45.

I know it takes a few weeks before the RPI begins to make much sense, but again, there is no way Wichita is the #44 ranked team at this point in the season.
