Can we all just agree that the leagues refs are shite and the new rules suck a big one. I don't watch basketball to watch a combined 70 FT attempts

There are no SEC refs. They don't exhist. Thank Freedom of Motion. They got the exact opposite of what they wanted with the rules changes.

LSU only shot 10 rebounds and TAMU had 15

Our game was officiated well IMO

Yeah, the game kind of sucked tonight because of all the fouls in both directions.

70 possible points in FT's is a bit ridiculous.

53 fouls in a game is just absurd. I didn't buy tickets to watch refs go at it

If the game is rough and clear fouls need to be called okay. If it this bullshite breathing on an opponent GFY refs

It was unwatchable.
Literally. Turned it off.
Officiating has WAY too much influence on athletics this year.

State had 25 fouls and Florida had 13. Hard to watch. Half away from the ball down low or little reaches or a guy dribbles and throws his head back and gets the foul call without any contact. It's a joke

Personally, I think basketball has gotten to violent. I also love watching free throw contests. So I'm glad the refs have called the game as they did.

Ref'ing has been bad in men's college basketball for a while. The women are allowed to play harder fought more physical games without getting called than the men are. The men's teams get called for looking in the wrong direction.

It's sad.

The rule changes themselves aren't bad. Enjoy seeing scoring and pace of play go up. But so often the enforcement has been excessive, and watching fouls on seemingly every trip down the floor is very annoying. Seems like it's not uncommon these days to see both teams in the double bonus with 8 minutes left in the half, and that's just dumb.

To me it's an issue of consistency. The fouls need to be called the same by every crew, and for both sides. As shitty as the SEC football crews can be at times, they are miles ahead of their basketball counterparts. A foul at the beginning of the game is still a foul in the final two minutes, yet they either overlook it early and call it late or vice versa. Its bullshite.

Exactly, and most fans of any conference feel that their refs are the worst.

Most every game will have so many judgment calls that fans of each team disagree with the call. Even if you are not a fan of either team but are pulling for one team or the other, it will sway your evaluation of the calls.

And of course, a loud home crowd will somewhat influence the refs.

Lsu shot 31 fts to arkansas' 11 fts in a 2 point win.

It's been that way for a long time

I agree with this. One crew will call every moving screen. The next, good example last night, will ignore the moving screen all evening. How do the players know what to do if the rules aren't being applied equally in each game.

The game became shite when the defensive player no longer had a right to his position on the floor.

That would have happened just by lowering the shot clock.

50 + fouls in a game does not equate to a faster paced game. It does, however, equate to people picking up the remote and switching to something worth watching.
