quote:Due to the above mentioned inability to win away from Bud. However, inside the Bud we beat every premier conference team. Thus the question, which team is the real Arkansas team? It would be debatable if we had dropped one or two of those premier matchups, but we didn't lose any of them.
you did not.
ETA: Also just as an added point, one of those losses at a neutral site was to a team we beat by 23 points at home.

It's impossible to tell who's going to do what and part of the problem is this:

Completely agree. I applaud Kentucky this year.

Not every SEC team has been playing just cupcakes.
LSU has the #5 SOS
UF has the #6 SOS
Bama #13 SOS (unfortunately losing to everyone)
UK #15 SOS
(This is according to BPI)

fwiw BPI sucks. The SOS is legit, but everything else about that stats system is turrible.

RPI and BPI rankings are lining up pretty damn close for the most part even right now

I think you missed the point there.

No I'm just saying that's it almost useless to discuss either poll at this point. Neither are a good indicator of where a team is that's all.

How is Arky doing this year? Seems like the no hand checking would have destroyed your guys system. Has it been a noticeable difference?
I haven't really noticed a difference. It's actually helped us play defense with our feet more, which is a good thing. You can tell we practiced with the new rule a lot before the season

And I'm saying they already line up pretty closely. Regardless of what happens a month or two from now it seems like neither will be much different than the other sans a team here or there.

OM will be on the bubble. We have a big game with Dayton, Jan. 4th. I wish we would have beaten Oregon or Kansas St. but didn't happen. Our SOS OOC is much better this year than last year. If we win out in OOC, which includes Dayton, we will be on the bubble going into conference play.
We can score with absolutely anyone. If our 4 big men stay healthy, we will make a run at the dance. We have been close every year under Kennedy. This is his deepest team he has had. No reason it won't happen this year.

Why didn't you address your garbage defense?
Can't win games with no inside presence on defense. As I already said earlier, ya'll will get killed with slashing guards unless your big men start showing up.

What games have you watched us play? I bet it has only been Oregon.

All your tv games. I like Kennedy. Have met the guy a few times and am good friends with alot of former players, so I keep up with ya'll.
I don't mean any ill will by it, but I just don't see ya'll reaching the tournament this year. Your big men will have to step up in order for that to happen.

They have been. Jones is killing it with blocks. Cox plays pretty good defense. We need to work harder on being dominate rebounding but I think our big man with the most potential is Colbey. I don't know if he has been hurt or what but he hasn't been playing much lately but he is going to be really, really good.
Saiz is a work in progress and Perez really isn't a F, he is more of a winger that can play down low if he has too.

No inside presence? You do realize that OM is second in the league and sixth in the nation in blocked shots right. The biggest defensive issue is on the glass. We play mostly zone and give up a bunch of second shot opportunities. It's a young group that will be battle tested when the league games start. If they get tougher on the glass we will be fine. Watch some games.
