Player of the Week
Tre Phelps • Georgia
Georgia’s Tre Phelps batted .429 with four home runs, a double, eight runs scored and nine RBI in helping Georgia sweep No. 13 South Carolina in Columbia for the first time since 2019. Phelps posted one of the top SEC SLG% on the weekend at 1.357 plus had a .500 OB% as he drew one walk and was hit by a pitch to go with his six hits on the week. He smashed a three-run home run in his first at bat in game one of series to set the tone as the Bulldogs tallied 39 runs in the series sweep and extend their winning streak to eight.

Shane Sdao • Texas A&M
Texas A&M’s Shane Sdao tossed a career-high seven shutout innings and allowed only three hits en route to his fourth win of the year Sunday vs. Ole Miss. The lefty also matched his career-high for strikeouts with six and retired the final 10 batters he faced. Texas A&M went on to finish off its ninth shutout of the year, which is tied for the third most in program history.

JD Thompson • Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt’s JD Thompson threw 6.0 shutout innings vs. No. 1 Tennessee in the Commodores’ 3-0 win Sunday at Hawkins Field. Thompson matched his career high with nine strikeouts and held the Volunteers to just two hits. Thompson combined with Devin Futrell to shutout Tennessee, handing the Vols their first shutout of the season.
Freshman of the Week
Gabe Gaeckle • Arkansas
Arkansas’ Gabe Gaeckle struck out five and did not allow an earned run in 3.1 innings over two relief appearances against No. 12 Mississippi State as he helped the Razorbacks secure their 10th consecutive SEC home series win. The right-hander concluded the weekend with two scoreless frames and three strikeouts in Sunday’s series finale against the Bulldogs to lock down the Hogs’ 9-6 comeback win and secure his seventh save of the season, as well as his sixth multi-inning save of his freshman campaign.
