A couple of things. Petry 11 HR in 14 games is stout. Also hat's off to Corbin for benching Futrell early in the season for what I am guessing was disciplinary reasons. Vandy fans may know more, but that guy is a hell of a pitcher to be able to roll out on a Sunday.

SEC teams can hit. And also pitch a little. Most teams' ERA is up and batting avg is down, other than Vandy, who couldn't hit their way out of a paper bag in non-conf play. Now they are knocking it all over the place.

How much time did you save by not typing U at the end of LSU?
And thanks for the stats

I'm not going to sugarcoat it and say our pitching is amazing, but we also played 4 of the top 6 offenses in the SEC to start the year.

LSU at 6.27 ERA is bad, but keep in mind that it is against the toughest schedule to date and we can't throw strikes consistently. :)

No one from Arkansas above .330 on batting average, or above 7 home runs? Hum.

This was a copy and paste job with a lot of editing because they space the numbers out. Click the link and you can see what I copied and then you will see that in the individual stats, the school identifying the player gets 2 letters. I thought LSU fans wouldn't need remedial training in order to figure it out, but per the usual, I was wrong.

Absolutely, I see that number coming down in the last half of conference play. This is still a small number of games and the stats will go up and down pretty sharply in some cases.

BigD, just wanted you to know I appreciate the stuff you do on here for SEC baseball.

I love my fellow baseball fans, and truthfully I am not any kind of baseball aficionado by any means, I am an all sports guy. I just think it is a great sport that every school can be competitive in if they choose to do so.
And no matter how big and bad you think you are, you can get your arse spanked at any time.

That Dylan crews guy is pretty good at baseball

It’s true, we do not play well out of conference partly because it was early in the season.

Hey Porter, good series this weekend man. I think my nose is still bloody from that 9th inning on Friday.

Your pitching was badass though, and you were winning low scoring games even though your hitting was cold.
Everyone is going to hit some cold streaks, and sometimes they are at the beginning of the season. You just have to push through it the best you can.

Hagan Banks
One of our very good young arms. He threw 4 innings of perfect baseball at Arkansas a few weeks ago.
Bo is a terrible in-game coach and can't manage a bullpen to save his life, but he's signed some very good players the last 2 years. Hagan Banks (SO), Riley Quick (FR), Luke Holman (SO) and Alton Davis (FR) are all major league quality arms.
