chance for LSU to get a sweep as well.
No doubt LSU desperately needs a sweep, but unfortunately, not only is it unlikely to happen, it is also unlikely to help much in the big picture even if it does.

Mize isn't back too. State fuct.

I think whoever wins the state/auburn series wins the SEC. Not guaranteed obviously, but just my opinion.

How is LSU's RPI still so good?

Still really early. State still has series against aTm and LSU. Auburn still has series left against LSU and Ole Miss. Kentucky and Arkansas will have a say in who wins the league.
At some point all of the pitchers being injured are going to take a toll on State. The only team that has really tested State's pitching depth was Arkansas, and State didn't have the pitching to keep up in that series. Its not a knock on State, nothing can be done about injuries.

SOS is 8
12 wins over top 50
Early season sweep of Maryland and pulling the series out on the road at Arkansas is carrying a lot of weight for LSU.

State couldn't score that weekend to help the pitchers out. Arkansas won 5-1, 5-4 and 6-1.
I agree that only having 6 serviceable pitchers is going to eventually get us. Pilk is a legit ace and we have a quality reliever and the nation's top closer. Game 2 and 3 starters are just prayers at this point. But they are 13-5 and lead the SEC, so they are doing alright I guess.

The interesting number to look at with LSU is they (along with Kentucky and State) lead the league and are third in the nation in Top 50 wins with 12.
Texas Tech and Oregon State are the only other teams with more than 12 Top 50 wins. Tech has 14 and OSU has 15. Oregon State is a ridiculous 15-1 against Top 50 teams.
Top 50 wins, nationally
1. Oregon State (15-1)
2. Texas Tech (14-8)
3. Mississippi State (12-8)
4. Kentucky (12-9)
5. LSU (12-11)

Early in season and Andy shook things up afterwards. He didn't come to Msu with a lot to work with from injuries and all those lost from last years team.
Our bottom order which was non existent has come a long way slowly but surely. Remember when our batting avg was just terrible?

Top to get past the draft bs.

Hate the Draft, never watched it; not even last year.

Barring some sweeps, should Auburn, Vandy, and SC all win their series you could have ten teams within three games of first with nine games to go.

True, but as in winning or losing enough to aid the victor. Because at this rate, it sure isn't going to be our Hogs.
Geesh 2/3 thus far to ole miss at home. RPI buster? or not..
