I thought that about Bama too until I remembered that we played 3 games in 2 days with the last going into extras. We were to the point where we were throwing position players that hadn't pitched since high school. Any team with a pulse would have killed us by then.

The coaches coming from MSU again. Butch Thompson was a great hire for Auburn and Nick Mingione for Kentucky.
Speaking of Mingione, not many people know much about his past history and how he got where he is in coaching. He once slept in his car while trying to make it in the coaching profession because he had nothing. True story.
A brilliant coach to be, when he found a home at Miss State his life turned around. Now he is the head coach at Kentucky and nobody deserves it more. Kudos to him!

Vanderbilt really had a front loaded SEC slate. Need to make a move down the stretch, sucks VU wasted a 2nd great outing from Kyle Wright. Georgia sweep last weekend would have been just what the doctor ordered.

Agreed, it is, but this was supposed to be a true throwaway year for AU. I expect Thompson to improve that dramatically in the coming years. Regardless, if AU continues to win, thankfully there's enough meat on the schedule to get an RPI boost.

Yes, he'll get at least one more. They have something like 9 1-run losses. Yeah, I know, they're still a loss, but on the same note, AU has 11 1-run wins. Baseball is fickle like that, and the difference between potentially hosting a regional to missing the postseason completely is a touch more team chemistry and pitching ability. With that amount of close games for Bama (the MSU series is a good example), Bama has the potential to totally derail a teams RPI and pull off a series upset.
Goff does need to get his team playing better fundamentally. I have seen them commit some little league type mistakes on fielding assignments/base running.

Big Big week for MSU @ ole miss and vs Aubby! You should finish no worse than 7-5 through the remaining secgames.

While 25,000 Rant fans saw the name "REBS on the RISE" and choked on the laughter thinking about the NCAA coming and thought "REBS on the DECLINE."
