Here is the order I'd probably want current SEC coaches to head up my "Generic Team."

(1) Kevin O'Sullivan
(2) Paul Mainieri
(3) Rob Childress
(4) John Cohen
(5) Mike Bianco
(6) Tim Corbin
(7) Dave Van Horn
(8) Butch Thompson
(9) Chad Holbrook
(10) Nick Mingione
(11) Dave Serrano
(12) Greg Goff
(13) Scott Stricklin
(14) probably whomever Missouri hires

Tough list, so many great coaches. HUGE drop-off after #9 by the way. I tried to not take into account bullshite like W/L% over so many years or "number of college world finalists" and keep in mind's it's relative to job. For some of the less proven guys...it can be tough. I also took into account coaching style (i.e. Corbin loses points for his bullshite like starting pitchers at DH, SAC-bunting seemingly a lot, etc. plus the fact Vandy is such a great job (probably 2nd or 3rd just behind LSU in my opinion)

1-7 could go about anyway, IMO. It's a decent argument and I would listen to intelligent disagreements. I perhaps have Holbrook a bit too low. I think some USC fans underrate him (because Tanner was that good, but he's still got some questions to answer, IMO)

Some will say I have Butch Thompson to high and that's fair, but honestly if Alabama had to have any of the other coaches below him, I'd prefer him.

Very fair argument considering Childress is a Van Horn disciple. I had a very hard time with 1-7.

Subject is clear. Not is forcing you to read the threat much less respond.

Talk about some off-season bullshite football topic or have some dumb argument about Jordan vs. Lebron, I don't care.

It's sad that I can't disagree with being 13th.

Sully shouldn't be #1 on this until he wins a title.

Regular season means absolutely nothing for UF

Corbin is way too low. You say Vandy is a great program, but he built it that way. Vandy was garbage before he arrived.

1) Corbin
2) Mainieri
3) O'Sullivan

Corbin, Mainieri, and O'Sullivan are easily the top 3 in the league. I give the edge to Corbin because (a) I'm a homer and (b) he literally built the program from nothing. Corbin and Mainieri have National Championships, and O'Sullivan doesn't. Ergo, O'Sullivan is third. I think it is just a matter of time for O'Sullivan though. These three consistently recruit and field the most talented teams in the conference.

4) Van Horn - Multiple trips to Omaha at both Nebraska (2) and Arkansas (4). Other metrics don't blow you away, but a model of consistency. Missed the NCAAs as a head coach for the first time since 1999.

5) Childress
6) Cohen
7) Bianco

1 CWS appearance each and always in the mix. Realistically could be in any order, but I think Childress and Cohen have their best days ahead of them. Cohen has lacked a little in consistency, but did make the 2013 CWS final series, and he also did relatively well at Kentucky. If one or more of those Ole Miss teams from 2005-2009 would have made it to Omaha, I think Bianco would be just behind Van Horn.

The top 7 coaches have also had some very good assistants who have gone on to be great head coaches in their own right.

8. Holbrook. Has a great job.

9-13. I'm sure there are some good coaches in the bunch, but they are all fighting an uphill battle.

14. Serrano.
