The Hurricanes have played a role in the season so far and some teams have had to deal with players and their families being affected.

EAST
Kentucky- Went on the road and won at SC. Jury still out but have played with a ton of heart.
Vandy- Great Start for Vandy, good defense, will need more offense as they play better offensive teams.
Georgia- Freshman QB has competed with heart, great RB's, good WR, Defense is adequate and getting better
SC- Started great, losing one of their best players to Injury hurts, still can compete in the East
Florida- 10 player suspended, Offense needs help, Defense has played well, jury is still out after 2 games
Tennessee- have competed hard, kept games close, some game management issues by staff. One has to like their no quit attitude.
Missouri- GREAT School, but their football program has lost its way somewhere and a reboot is needed.

WEST
Auburn- have played hard each week, should have been up 21-0 on Clemson in the first half, defense is their strength which is hard to fathom with Malzahn as HC.
LSU- Great athletes, there is a disconnect somewhere in the program. QB development and game management is a starting point, lets see how they perform when they visit UF in a few weeks.
Miss St.- Great Home Win, best overall QB play in the league so far.
Ole Miss- have played hard in while in a tough situation for the players, ran out of gas late in California.
Arkansas- Who, what is this football team going to be? Will find out more this weekend.
Texas A&M- down to a non power 5 teams did not look very good, but played hard, and competed to finish srong, will know more after this weekend.
Alabama, No. 1 but still a great deal of work to be done, injuries to LB's left holes, QB play got better, but will need to improve each week to beat some SEC teams on the road.

Your Thoughts?

Our defense has been ok but it's obvious the experience and the depth isn't there to bail out the offense repeatedly as it has done the last two years and through most of the Muschamp era.

No.

The defense has played hard, but the offense is softer than warm butter. They folded late in the game against Cal.

Shea doesn't seem to be as mentally tough as Kelly was. He folded when the offense wasn't clicking in the second half against Cal. Kelly would have continued to ball.

I hate that the defense has improved its toughness and are playing their assignments well (still can't tackle, that's a problem), and now the offense is a joke if the long ball isn't there.

We've been an incomplete team ever since 2014. 2014 was solid on both sides of the ball, but ever since then one side or the other has been abyssmal.

The fate of UT will be with the UGA game in 2 weeks. A loss would mean 0-2 in league and a real good chance the wheels completely come off. A win means we're definitely stuck with Lyle for another year.

Defensive front and linebackers have played lights out so far defensive backs need to polish up a bit. We are getting our starting senior corner back this week that has been out since camp. Good Post

Seems like you don't really have any idea how good teams are after 3 weeks.

SC is can compete in the east ? After losing to U.K. And already having their easy conference win. Teams out side of the big 6 don't have the depth to lose to UK And lose a player like Samuel and still compete. Everyone in east has a better chance of competing then SC beside Missouri.

So far not much has changed in the east from
what we expected. UGA looks to be the
favorite with UF trying its best to win the east again with no offense. It will be surprise if
someone else wins the east other then this 2
. Candy maybe the biggest surprise but this weekends game against Bama could be rough . UK seems to be a middle of the road east team as expected.

Right now it looks like they will finish in this order
UGA
UF
Vandy
Tennessee
UK
SC

Missouri

Tennessee is a dumpster fire. Missouri is a double dumpster fire. Other schools like LSU are smoldering. You are being too nice.

Yes, the SEC in both Divisions have a great deal of questions to be answered after only 3 weeks.
I realize these are college athletes and after working at the collegiate level and officiated for 15 years at this level I try to see the good at each program as so much negativity is written and spoken about our schools.
Anyone can win the SEC East(except Missouri) and the West has some very big games coming up that will shed some much needed light and expose some flaws and the weakness area for all of our teams.
I will share that under no circumstances do I believe an Ohio State, or a Penn St, or an Oklahoma, or Oklahoma St or an USC type team could line up week in and week out in the SEC and run the table without a blemish or two.
Playing in the SEC is much different on the road than other conferences, I have witnessed and officiated some of those games. The passion and competitive level of an LSU at night in Baton Rouge, the Heat of Florida field on a 3:30 start in Gainesville, the rowdy crowd in Athens, GA, The Eagle flying in Jordan-Hare, to the cowbells in Starkville or the 12TH MAN in College Station week in and week out is not seen at any other conference. Every SEC true school will make life difficult for the visiting school and competing in the SEC is just a different level of collegiate football.
Go SEC and best of luck to you and your teams this coming weekend.
