The SEC is moving closer to an agreement on a conference-only schedule of 10 games, multiple sources told Sports Illustrated. During a virtual meeting on Wednesday, a majority of athletic directors approved the idea of an SEC-only, 10-game schedule. However, the schedule must be ratified by league presidents. SEC presidents are expected to meet virtually Thursday to seriously discuss the matter. It is unclear if they will vote then or delay a decision until next week. The NCAA Board of Governors is scheduled to meet Tuesday in what could be a momentous event for the 2020–21 college athletic season. Officials there could postpone or cancel fall championships, eliminating year-ending championships for sports such as FCS football, volleyball and soccer, or moving those to the spring.

Alright Ole Miss, we’ll see you soon.

Eta: Saw y’all have Auburn first. I’m guessing this would push another sec game before we play Ole Miss

In a 10-game all-SEC slate, teams would keep their scheduled eight conference games while adding two more teams from the opposite division.

It'd be cool to see which teams got added. We already play Georgia and Tennessee; adding Florida would be awesome and Kentucky is scrappy and could make for a good game.

Hopefully in the future this will lead to playing 9-10 conference games a yr . The Pac 12 has been playing 9 conference games for quite a few yrs. Saban & few others may finally get their wish.

There is no logical reason not to. I would be stoked for an all conference schedule moving forward.

This sucks. Was hoping to play 1 or 2 OOC games.

I am guessing we will add our rotating schools for 2021 and 2022 plus our regularly scheduled 8. (IF we play only 10 SEC teams)

My guess at LSU's schedule

G1 @Kentucky
G2 Tennessee
G3 @Auburn
G4 Ole Miss
G5 State
G6 @Florida
G7 @Arkansas
G8 OPEN
G9 Alabama
G10 Carolina
G11 @A&M

I agree playing just 1 ooc game like the acc would be better. We'll see what's finally agreed upon.

This season should be pretty fricking great with the added marquee matchups that are going to come due to this. Obviously non-conference games got screwed but I won’t complain about getting someone like Bama added to the hypothetical schedule (just don’t frick our worlds up like when we had McElwain)
