It's gonna be unfair to have our DL for the next few years.

I love the off season talk of stars. Mizzou's DL will once again be mostly three stars and will once again be much better than Tennessee's.

Nobody has ever claimed until this offseason that Tennessee's D line was better than Mizzou's.

I mean Mizzou's Dline wasn't much better than Tennessee's this past year.

And yet you still couldn't win when it mattered with your "superior D line."

Thank goodness for that Reggie McKenzie hu?

And Raleigh McKenzie as well! LINK

And I'd be remiss if I forgot about their dad, Kahlil's grandad, who is a Knoxvillian (still lives here, IIRC). He actually asked Kahlil when he received his offer, "Did you sign it yet?" That was before he'd even committed let alone gotten any paper work for signing day. His grandad is a hoot.

They are a wonderful family and I'd say that even if they were tied to another school. Just good people. And much like the Berry fam, we are lucky to have them affiliated wit our school.

I must say, you guys have done a helluva job getting your ex-players to have some high achieving children.

I'm terrified of the super freak Peyton has created.

Travis Henry's 20 kids should add some nice contributors to the UT football family as well.

Haha.

Seriously- there is no doubt Jones can bring in talent. That is fine and dandy. It is part of the process.

But he has to win. Last year's Florida game was an absolute debacle. That loss is entirely on Coach Jones. I get that there is a learning curve stepping up into tougher competition in the SEC. And hopefully he learns from it. But this past year's Florida game was embarrassing as frick.

I agree with the Bammer. Let's wait for them to actually be great before announcing all-time.

Barnett has earned the praise he is getting. Let the others do the same. As far as I'm concerned- just some potential fish coming. Hopefully they pan out.

With what I said out there - I'd certainly be excited if I was you guys. Big nasty D-linemen cover up a whole lot of other weaknesses. It's a huge deal to get those guys. Ain't many of them.

Bro, this is the Rant. Ain't no one allowed to be excited about their team.

I'm more concerned about our offensive line. That is the glaring Achilles' heel.

LSU in 2003 was pretty good. Off the top of my head:

Chad Lavalais
Kyle Williams
Marquise Hill, RIP
Marcus Spears

That will be a big part to getting back on track for Tenn

At times, it seems a statistical anomaly but then you think back and we've put tons of players in the pros. IIRC, one of the top 5 programs for that so sheer numbers are on our side. And then there's just something about playing for Tennessee that gets in the blood (the Berry Twins committed in grade school to Fulmer and again to Kiffin in middle school but what a lot of people forget is that Eric wasn't the first Berry as his Daddy played before him). Our former players often become the biggest homers around.

Whatever it is I'm glad for it!

As to PM's future kid, he will be a monster if he takes after his dad, grandad and uncle. He would of course beat everyone BUT Florida. That said, Peyton is so much associated with football, I could see him carving out his own path and doing something different (I really hope not - I mean Michael Jordan's kid plays even though he's not great just good).

In any case, Lord knows his kids will never have to work if they don't want to.

Nice haul upfront Vols. You should know by now if you post anything good about your school, the gumps will play the trump card...it's best sometimes to just not say a word...right Summer of George?
