My God, how bad are your other sports if football is what you excel at?

Edit:

The next Rebels program to come close to a national championship

So your school has never actually won a natty in anything?

Mississippi State is still waiting for its first national title in any sport.

One of the few SEC schools that can technically claim football as its top sport is Ole Miss. But it comes with a bit of an asterisk as we have to harken the John Vaught era of the 1950s and 60s. The Rebels have never won an Associated Press-recognized championship but claim three national titles in 1959, 1960 and 1962

Wow Mississippi sucks.

Haven't won a championship of any kind, in any sport, since their claimed titles of the Vaught Era.

How awesome is it to be a fan of any school that isn't Ole Miss? Very fricking awesome.

To summarize this article:

You may not know that SEC schools actually excel at many different sports, are very successful and in many cases dominate those sports.
Except the Mississippi schools, they're just awful. Because Mississippi gonna Mississippi.

If they don't get to claim 1960 then I guess you'll stop claiming 1942.

It's interesting to me looking at a post about 1942.

In that case, in 1940 Mississippi State went undeafeated. Wiki shows 4 teams claiming a national title that year. Tennessee, Boston College, Minnesota and Stanford.

So lets look at common opponents with Tennessee. We shut out Alabama 14-0 while Tennessee won 27-12. We beat Florida 27-7 while Tennessee won 14-0. Tennessee did beat LSU 28-0 while we beat them 22-7. But we also beat a 9-2 Ole Miss team 19-0.

It's always funny how once again we don't get a mention. I do understand the bias on our state but hey, why on earth can't we claim that too.

ETA: Tennessee lost their game vs BC in the Sugar. MSU went undefeated.
