He's the next up and coming coach. Gruden isn't going to Tennessee because he will hate recruiting. Chip Kelly won't go to Tennessee for the same reason.

Scott Frost, the UCF head coach, is the next big thing, so if Tennessee gets ahead by firing Jones after the Bama game, they will likely get Scott Frost.

Just my prediction. Not a bad hire.

There's no fixing Nebraska.

Scott Frost could come into Tennessee and win immediately with the talent Jones has gotten.

So going 9-8 in two years at a middle of the road CUSA school gets you any job in America?

OK

Scott Frost is going somewhere after this season. No question about that.

Frost should definitely be on their short list, imo.

Wouldn't this be like their 3rd consecutive "next big thing" hire in a row?

Dooley was the next big thing? I can understand them hiring Jones given what Jones did with cincy, but Dooley?

There are just no guarantees that a coach like that can have similar or better success at a major program. I think Charlie Strong is showing that you can be very successful at programs like Louisville and USF, but not Texas.

No way he turns down Huskers for any other job. Seek answers elsewhere

Mike Norvell would be the best fit for UT IMHO.

He has a lot of ties already in the Memphis area which UT really needs

Lol. Dooley was a panic hire, certainly not even in the same universe as a "Next big thing ".

Jones was not a hot commodity, he was like our 5th or 6th choice. Not the next big thing. Not even close.

Frost is slightly below where Meyer was when Florida hired him. Not saying he's Urban Meyer, but Frost is in a whole nother league from Lyle and Doofus.

And currently makes 6.5 million/year to basically show up on game day and get a few chuckles. I'd be really surprised if he returns to coaching.
