South Carolina defensive lineman Dante Sawyer referenced a racial slur in a postgame tweet.

“racism still alive in Clemson i see.. classless sobs, still calling people (racial slur) is crazy,” was posted on Sawyer’s Twitter page shortly before midnight.

Wide receiver Terry Googer, who was visibly upset after the game, said this on Twitter: “Never thought I would hear so many racial slurs in my life!! Classless is not a strong enough word to describe the actions!”

This is what led to that pregame confrontation.

Yay. More claims of racism that can't be proven, yet give plenty of opportunity for moral high ground.

I'm not saying it didn't happen. I just think the demographics of a football field make it hard to believe one side could get away with this without both sides blowing it up.

Wait a minute here. Isn't most of Clemson's starters indeed black. So are black players calling other black players the N word. I'm confused here.

I agree. The football field should be a safe space where no bad words will be tolerated!!

If you were able to be on the field and hear every word spoken by the players during a game, My guess is you would hear that word being thrown around over 100 times or more. And 99.9% of them would be from black players.

The claim that it was thrown at him and his feelings are hurt because of it is fricking laughable.

I agree I mean I played in High School and it was constant. I think his feeling are hurt more from the score board reading 56-7 than anything.

Also before the game Muschamp went to shake Dabo's hand and Dabo kind of just looked at him and turned back to watching Clemson warm-up, refusing to shake his hand.
