His dad is on the A&M staff and he was on texAgs radio today. Great stories of watching his kid grow at every level and how lucky he was that his son wanted to be an Aggie.

I was teaching and coaching at A&M Consolidated HS while he was there. When he was a freshman, I figured he might make the varsity when he was senior. I and many others were wrong - he became one of our best players during his sophomore year. He worked so hard and it really showed. His sisters played volleyball and they were the same. Their work ethic comes from their parents who are some of the nicest people I know.

I know I rag on Aggies a lot, but here I will definitely compliment Alex.

ETA:To clarify, I didn't coach basketball, but I was the PA announcer at our home games when Rick Hill retired from doing the Consol basketball games.
