My wife and I just got back from a cruise to Norway and on the first night saw a guy with LSU gear (I was wearing a Bama shirt) and it was funny that it immediately clicked that here's a guy that I immediately know is a fellow SEC football fan, probably from the south, and most likely a nice guy that I'll have a lot in common with - all of which turned out to be true. As hard as we go after each other here it's nice to be reminded that our similarities almost always outweigh our differences. It's still the offseason so I thought I'd throw that out before we really get into football season.

The trip started in Amsterdam where there was a famous coffee shop called The Bulldog across from my hotel with a big bulldog logo that looked a lot like UGA's, see the link below. I went in to buy a shirt with the logo for my daughter who graduated from Georgia (after 5 years of out of state tuition). And yes, they sold pot in there with no ID or anything else required but cash (no, I didn't buy any).

Thanks for letting me share. I'm ready for some damn football.

Nothing expands cultural horizons like going to other countries wearing SEC gear and talking about SEC football on the first night

I never understood people wearing their college logos while on vacation.

Ran into a fellow LSU grad in Lille, France some years ago. He worked at the art museum and was wearing an LSU cap. He was a Louisiana native. His wife was from Lille. Also ran into a fellow I went to school with at LSU years before in Lille, while we both visiting. I’ve run into LSU alums in Paris and even Merida, Mexico. Always a surprise.

I sometimes wear a LSU hoodie when it’s too cool not to wear something warm, but a jacket would be too heavy. I also wear a cap if I’m in the sun. Why not?

That’s weird.
What’s wrong with wearing a college logo? On a hat or shirt? I get not going out all gameday mode but fail to see what’s wrong with sporting a logo

It’s always awesome when something like this happens. My family and I were in Cusco and we saw two LSU fans wearing their purple and gold and gave them a “Go Hogs” and vice versa and it was awesome. Never know when, but we aren’t ever far from each other.

I wouldn’t wear a Bossier Parish Community Co. logo either, it’s ok.

Unlike you, I actually have a degree from LSU. I don’t need to wear my LSU sweatshirt while visiting the Louvre. It’s odd to me.

Then don’t worry about and judge what other people wear on vacation. If they want to then great, good for them lol

Seems a little odd that bothers you.

Yep, on this site we are all like brothers sitting in the back seat an overcrowded station wagon in the middle of a hot summer with no AC.
