Yeah, George is a great poster. Wish there were more posters here that were as open about discussing basketball and not just flaming or tugging their party line ad nauseum.



That said, I do agree that Alabama basketball fans here seem to go overboard with negativity about the team.

Grant hasn't met the pretty realistic expectations that Alabama has enjoyed a good enough program historically to at least expect to make into the tourney much more often than not. However, the team this year isn't nearly as bad as most make it to be.


With just a 50/50 return on games that came down to the final possession and not having UK scheduled twice so far, they would likely be in the logjam tied for second place right now and solidly on the tourney bubble.


However, I think that with the better posters the negativity comes from it being almost five straight years of the exact same thing playing out: losing an uncanny percentage of "last possession games" and always just missing the NCAA cut.


I gather they almost fear that Alabama's luck will even out in last second finishes the rest of the way and, having already faced UK twice in a very top loaded schedule, will finish 10-8 in the SEC, making it another 20 win, NIT season and Grant will be back to do it again next year.
