Yes, the NCAA struck down satellite camps. Can't do it. End of story.

But my question is, "What coach thought this was a good idea for his student athletes?,"

Let's be honest, Spring Break is a great experience when you're in college. You go down south or out west, get drunk, get laid and enjoy the hell out of being a college student.

The coaches basically said, "That 12 months a year you give us working out and prepping for the season, missing Thanksgiving and Christmas, getting up at 5 am each morning, that's not enough. You now have to sacrifice the one really cool thing about being in college you still had left: Spring Break."

And don't give me that shite about those kids couldn't afford to go to Cancun or PCB on their own. Of course they could. I afforded it.

Satellite camps are a bad idea all around.

What does Satellite Camps and Spring Break have to do with each other?

Because Harbaugh (the reason for the new rule) opted to have his players forego Spring Break in order to go have a week in Florida...practicing.

You're an idiot and obviously have never known anyone in college athletics.

They workout, prep, study year round if they want to have a hope of starting. The NCAA mandated 20 hours a week doesn't apply to "voluntary" activities. Voluntary in name only.

I could see Saban ( if the SEC oked the camps) taking the team to Hawaii for spring training.
Don't laugh it could have been done.

I and the vast majority of my club teammates went to d1 programs... Care to discuss my firsthand experience vs whatever you bring?

You think a team might have a slight recruiting advantage with a week in Hawaii every year worked into the recruiting pitch?
