I think Shula would absolutely be a good hire. He runs a great offense in Carolina. It is just hamstrung there right now due to Carolina not having any O-linemen worth a damn.

I thought Saban wanted the NCAA to ensure player's safety by banning the hurry up?

And they didn't, so he changed with the times.

So, he really wasn't worried about player safety after all? It was just an agenda to change the pace of an offense because he struggled against it?

This is such a stupid argument. His job is to win football games. He mentioned how he thought the hurry up, while effective, was bad for the game as a whole. He brought up the issue of player safety as one of the reasons.

When the NCAA didn't do anything to stop the hurry up, he adapted. That adaptation has won his team three consecutive SEC titles, and three consecutive trips to the college football playoff.

Again, he's paid millions of dollars and opens himself up to public scrutiny for one reason, to win football games. And he's fricking incredible at it

Chip Kelly makes zero sense.

He could have any head coaching job he wants in college

Agreed, but college is still off the radar for him apparently. He's determined to stick with the NFL according to what he's been saying, so I wouldn't be surprised if he finds an OC job somewhere in the league.

What about player's safety, does he not care about it anymore?

His whole argument was player safety, but you'll swing it because Lord Saban has "adapted".

So, you're saying he values winning over player safety then?

Yes he does. As does every coach in football. As does every fan on this board.

He's paid to win games. If he were paid to keep players safe, he'd be coaching golf.

That valuation exists on a sliding scale. Is it worth it to win if half your team dies, probably not. Is it worth it to win if 7 players tear their ACL, probably so.

It's just funny that he's taken the gimmick y'all thought would end his reign. He's taken it and shoved it down your frickin throats and all you can do is sit there and whine and call him a hypocrite.

I do think it's funny that we now run Auburn's offense better than Auburn does

Factor this with Obama leaving the White House and it looks like Bama's run has ended.
