No, there's basically no rules on advisors and consultants. The only firm rule in place is they're not allowed to coach players or interact with them directly. I have no idea how that's enforced, but I'm not going to pretend that Alabama is the only school in the country with staff in place doing this.

Alcoholism is a recognized disease, so I wish him no harm, but being in that pressurized environment of coaching under Saban will do nothing but cause more & more stress. And alcoholics do one thing to relieve stress.
