Receptions & Total Yards

Against Arkansas:
Cooper: 2 for 22 yds
Coates: 1 for 13 yds

Against Ole Miss:
Cooper: 9 for 91 yds
Coates: 5 for 122 yds

Against A&M:
Cooper: 8 for 140 yds
Coates: 2 for 58 yds

Against LSU:
Cooper: 8 for 83 yds
Coates: 4 for 144 yds

Against Mississippi State (Apparently the worst secondary anywhere):
Coates: 3 for 22 yds

Cooper has ALOT more catches.. Pretty much doubles him up on all of them.. I think Cooper will have more that 6 for 44 yds against MSU..imo

Amari Cooper will be the best player on the field Saturday.

Cooper is better but he drops his fair share too. Bama fans will even tell you this.

When your QB targets you 40 times a game you're bound to drop a few.

Besides the second half of the LSU game, he has been about as sure handed as they come. Last year he dropped more balls game to game, though.

Ask any pro scout who they would rather have. Or any college football coach for that matter.

Off topic but- how did the sister feel about you spending so much time on the road talking to every pro scout and college coach?

A couple of the Coates catches against Ole Miss were when Auburn still had the horseshoe up their arse.

The conclusion is that Coates is considerably more dangerous when he gets the ball; however, Alabama does a far better job of getting the rock to Cooper. So far, State has been the only team to consistently contain Coates after the catch, I have no reason to believe they won't do the same against an inferior athlete come Saturday.

Or maybe it is that Auburn's passing offense is mostly a running back throwing the ball as far as he can and hoping Coates or Williams can get it.

Marshall doesn't always throw the most catchable ball. Short and mid range, they tend to wobble a good bit.

Coates is a hell of an athlete, but he doesn't even belong in the same breath as Cooper.

YPC is a pretty deceiving stat.
WR1 catches 10 balls for 100 yards.
WR2 catches 1 ball for 20 yards.

Which is more "dangerous"?

Williams is Auburn's best reciever. Coates isn't a complete WR.

Inferior

If you say so. It will be settled in about 3 weeks. If you're right,we'll get the ball to Cooper so much, your defense will be sucking wind before the end of 3rd quarter, kinda like A&M. I give Coates his due. I think a 1st or 2nd round pick but would never call him inferior
