He lied to current players and recruits
Had he been honest with his intentions I think the transition would have been much easier.
On top of that the AD went as far away from the blueprint as he could have.
Saban coaching tree had a ton of candidates that would have made transition easier rather than the outsider.
It may work in the long run but how patient will bama fans be in the short run.

He gave us 17 unrivaled years of success. That’s a pretty big favor.

Nothing ever ends perfectly. The transitions from Saban, Miles, and Orgeron at LSU were all much messier, and LSU turned out ok. Alabama will be fine.
