I follow baseball but its been like following the Bama football team when Shula was coach. Lots of kicks in the nuts.

During the Jim Wells era Bama baseball was a hot ticket in Tuscaloosa. Never to the level of football obviously, but there was a solid following. Gaspard was mediocre at best and couldn't continue what Wells had built. Then the bottom fell out with Greg Goff. I think this coaching hire is crucial for Greg Byrne, and will show whether the administration truly wants to compete in baseball.

They’re a pretty decent team when their coach isn’t tanking to win bets.

My son and I were watching the Bama/ Florida game last night, and I was telling him about Bohannon. (he's 8) My comment to him was, "I wonder what they could have been this season if they hadn't had a coach undermining them and betting on them to lose them during it." It truly is something to consider - is this just a result of the chip on their shoulder that whole thing caused? Or are they better than their record due to a weasel at the helm?

They didn’t have much reason to for a while, this will only be their second NCAAT trip since 2014. Jim Wells had a good run there in the 90’s and 2000’s but they fell off after he retired.

I don’t care to watch a shitty product. Sorry. And I’m talking about college baseball not just Alabama

You'd rather be drinking bud lite with the sisters of perpetual indulgence at a dodgers game.

is no more a shitty product than CFB compared to NFL

Disagree.
College baseball is extremely diluted because many if not most of the best players skip college and go to the minors.
That might change now that they can make more as college players.

they only "care" when they are winning. program has sucked for so many years its just a lot of closet fans

Kinda like LSU fans and basketball for the majority of the last several seasons. An extended period of mostly subpar to mediocre at best seasons just like Alabama baseball is a big factor in the interest level (or lack thereof) of a fanbase. Funny how that works.
