Got him for less than 7M a year too. He's taking it easy on us now.

Actually 10.85 million is his compensation for 2017. That includes the 4 million dollar signing bonus.

till a smart move by Bama to avoid other schools pointing to Saban's expiring contract as a negative recruiting tool.

Yep this guy gets it. Saban is not coaching through 2024 obviously. He will likely retire in 4-5 years.

Wait, we were told he went broke on bad real estate deals....Cleveland was offering part ownership in the franchise - Texas oil barons were offering oil wells.

Looks like it's $11.125 million after other bonuses kick in for 2017. Sexton wasn't going to let Harbaugh be the highest paid for long.

TRant 2007... Some Gold
quote:

Gee, Bama fans are upset that we're relishing being #1 and having beat a Florida team that would destroy l'il ole Bama. Anyone notice how much Nicky's aged? He's losing a lot of hair and the lines in his face are getting deeper. Is this a natural aging process or is it stress and disappointment for taking a job and dealing with the most delusional fans in college football ? His days are numbered. I say he's gone faster than expected, probably 2 more years of Nicky and that's it. Looks like Nicky hates it in TrailerTown

quote:

I used to hate Saban, but now I merely dislike him intensely and then only because he is a Gump. Forget that arse clown. I'll take Les over any other college coach in America. Let 'er rip, Les. Craignez les Chapeau Blanc.

quote:

If Saban could have held on another year or so with the Dolphins he might have had a shot at the Michigan or Penn State jobs. Their fan base would be a much better fit for Saban. Saban isn't the Aw Shucks Good Ole Boy with a can of Skoal in his backpocket that the Bamas love. Hell he probably doesn't even have a gun-rack in his Mercedes.

Well, after we paid off his house and gave him $4M just to sign his name, I'm sure he felt a "break" of $7M per year was earned.

No can of Skoal, but Nick Saban chews Red Man.
