Can someone please explain why we went for it there? Seemed odd. Sorry if already discussed.

Kicking a FG when you are up by 30 points is a dick move. Going for it on 4th down at least gives them a legitimate opportunity to stop you and save face.

Why would you kick a FG up 30? They knew what Alabama was going to run on 4th down.

Kicking a th is considered running up the score more than going for it. As odd as it seems in that situation. But that is the etiquette. Same reason the went for it on fourth down earlier with Sims.

My thoughts exactly, and they stopped us. It was the right move.

UT had stopped them a couple of times in the red zone. Getting the back up some goal line practice. I have no problem with it as I do not believe in RUTS, if you don't like it bring better players, imo.

What if it was 4th and goal? Would it still be in bad taste to go for it on 4th?

No. As I said above, that is the etiquette.

I wish sims would get some more chances to pass instead of handing the ball off.
I know its etiquette, but he needs some reps.

Why so he can throw more picks? Worley was in the game at the end though.

Yeah but with AJ still young he needed a lot of reps earlier in the season. He is just now getting his timing down on the vertical plays.

Sims had a nice completion on fourth down to help kill the clock.

AJ is exceeding my expectations for the season thus far.

He's talking about Phillip Sims. UA's backup QB.

Not to be connfused with Blake Simms, QB/RB/ATH

You do know Bama could have gone for a TD in the final 50 secs.
