cool story but this has nothing to do with his statement

Yeah his statement was some dude he knew the marines made the statement that Saban wouldn't have suspended Perrilloux. How do you suspend a player that you wouldn't even recruit?

Miles is all over the place where he tosses his best players like its cool and then does a "due process" when his personal favorite gets in a bar fight.
as with most coaches...he's never kicked a player off the team for one infraction

wait....so you're saying Saban wouldn't have recruited the #1 player in the country in his own backyard?
if you're trying to say that LSU wasn't interested in RP while Saban was here than you're dumber than i thought.

Saban didn't coach Mathieu either. The guy's point was Nick is going to do what it takes to win even if that means covering up players' frick ups. You know that is true, as do I, yet you act like it's insane and ungrounded. Nick does not have integrity. That's the message the Marine was trying to convey.
For the record Nick Saban recruited Perrilloux although they did not see eye to eye and Perrilloux wasn't coming to LSU with the midget here.

O'rly? What about the these guys? Not to mention the guys he's told to go elsewhere.

Probably because Perriloux was a thug and did whatever the frick Perriloux wanted to do. He worked out real well for LSU.

Let me guess. Another thread with LSU fans hating on Saban? It's been 8 years guys. Time to let it go.

It was a comment from a guy I trust who knows and likes both coaches. The fact that neither played for Saban is irrelevant, he was stating that if the situation was the same and Saban had to make the decision that he would have kept those guys on the field. I wonder what would happen if McCarron was one of the four? It's not a knock on Saban it's the way he operates much like Urban Meyer.

Suspend all of them but McCarron? I can't picture McCarron walking around campus knocking ppl out and robbing them anyways.

It was not meant to be taken literally about A.J McCarron . A.J and RP are alike in that they are and were the one player that their respective teams cannot and could not replace.

What I am trying to convey is that kicking RP and TM off the team was incredible because we did not have players that could duplicate what they did and that directly contributed to losses on the field. I was just wondering what Saban would do if faced with that situation, I believe that McCarron would be that guy for Bama.

Perrilloux was in trouble multiple times and was given many chances by Les. It's not like he broke 1 team rule and Les booted him. CNS would've done the same thing.

Saban's not real big on players who don't listen to him and probably would've booted him sooner
quote:
The Times-Picayune reported on January 11, 2007 that Perrilloux was a “person of interest” in a Federal investigation being conducted in New Orleans, Louisiana
quote:
On May 22, 2007, LSU head coach Les Miles suspended Perrilloux from the football team indefinitely after the player was issued a misdemeanor summons by police when he allegedly tried to use his brother’s driver’s license to get onto the Hollywood Casino gambling boat

However, Miles reinstated Perrilloux in time for preseason practice
quote:
On October 25, Perrilloux, teammate Derrick Odom and others were involved in a fight at The Varsity, a Baton Rouge nightclub.[10] On October 31, 2007, Odom and Jeremy Benton were dismissed from the team. Perrilloux remained on the squad, but was suspended for LSU's game against Alabama
quote:
On February 18, 2008, Coach Miles indefinitely suspended Perrilloux for violating team rules
quote:
On May 2, 2008, LSU head coach Les Miles kicked Perrilloux off the team for "not fulfilling his obligation" as an LSU student-athlete.[16] He is reported to have a failed a drug test due to marijuana, missed a team meeting, skipped classes and was late for a handful of conditioning workouts.

Did Miles have a choice? Are we putting him up on a pedestal for doing something he had to do?

Left no choice (depending on the severity of the crime committed) I believe Saban would kick anyone off the team.
He does not seem like the kind of coach that would be willing to sacrifice all that hard work he has put into making Bama great over one player (albeit a star player)

CLM had no choice with TM if I remember correctly, LSU school policy dictated that. And I would immagine every school in the SEC has a similar policy. RP had more than his fair share of chances before CLM gave him the boot.

Wrong. A reporter asked Saban if RP would have gone to LSU if Saban had stayed at LSU. Saban responded, yes RP was going to LSU and that RP told him he was before Saban left LSU. Unless you think Saban was lying about it. No, I don't have the link. I am a genius and remember it well.

RP was very replaceable if you have a coach that has receuited a backup that was serviceable. Less didn't do that.
Saban would have did what Less did. The decision to remove TM was not Less' s. Same with Saban.
Im curious has to how many players Less has removed from the team permanently. Not players like TM who failed so many drug tests that the athletic department had no choice but to remove them.
