THere is a huge difference between 4.39 & 4.32 or 4.29. Who cares he has world class speed either way.

I really don't see Saban being the type of person who wastes his time on spin. I think he says what he means and means what he says.

Also, how many times did Greg McElroy complete a pass to Julio Jones while he was running in full stride? He never got to show off his great speed due to McElroy's ineptness.
How many of G-Mac's long passes to Julio were drops? Serious question.
C'mon, Bench...your opinion of Bama's passing game the last two years is tainted by your douchbaggery toward McElroy.

Julio would have ran a sub 2.3 if he had two healthy feet.
And he would have stopped to heal a crippled kid during the run.

You have the same amount of factual proof as the people who said he would, very little...
Except that no one over 200lbs has ever run a sub 4.3...odds would be way against it.

Bo Jackson - 6'1 - 225lbs - 4.12 forty

Lulz at sub 4.3
Probably not, but I think a lot of people wonder what Julio could have done without a fracture in his foot. He ran a 4.39 for goodness sakes.

The USA Today from 1986 4.12 mark...is that hand timed?

They should make players run their 40s in full pads.
That would make much more sense. Raw speed is not the same when toting around 15 pounds of gear.

I disagree. A great combine, especially running the 40, can elevate a 3rd rounder to a 1st. See Chris Johnson and that Maryland receiver Oakland took.

Considering he didn't have shite wrong with his foot he ran what he ran

maybe that's why Nick couldn't hack it as a pro head coach

I'll answer this honestly, since I don't actually think you are trying to flame.
Remember, the NFL combine didn't start till 1982. And it took until 1985 for all 28 teams to participate in it. It was held in New Orleans in 1984 & 1986. I'm pretty sure they didn't have laser timed 40's back then (I have no knowledge if this is true or not, just an assumption). However, they did have multiple runs & multiple timers at the time. Out of all of the timed events, the results were deliberated on (just like now), and Bo had a "verified" 4.12 forty. Unlike Deion, who supposedly ran a sub 4.2, but it wasn't official. Instead his official time was reported as 4.28.
So, in a nutshell, Bo Jackson has the fastest official 40 time at the NFL combine all-time.
ETA: Good article on it... History by the numbers
