So let Groh walk after refusing to pay the buyout for a year now? Because that sets precedence and a buyout for assistants is pointless after that. LSU would sue sad coach under the same circumstances, so shut the hell up.

You're better than this.

So, Bama's assistants sign contracts with the head coach rather than the school AND all contracted buyouts are payable to him?
The school really needs to rethink this policy.

UA filed the suit. Saban just didn't wave the clause. But Chicago didn't offer to pay be tab, which is usually customary.

Only thing I have to contribute here is all attorneys are assholes.

You do realize that no coach is exempt from the legality of his signed contract, nor the potential public perception shift from his job change and/or job flirtation, right?
You jump all over Saban like some pathetic jilted lover, yet you likely had nothing to say about our current coach when he spoke to Michigan (twice since 2007) or Arky. Who is really the hypocrite here? Looks like you are.

For someone who wants to "move on", the honorable Saban sure still spends alot of time and money in La.

For you Gump fans and tagalongs of little intelligence who have failed to understand the bigger message of this thread. I will try to make this simple. Saban professes loyalty and commitment but refuses to live by this mantra and put his name on the line to any program, yet he sees fit to require this of his coaches and goes so far as to give the green light to sue them for a relatively small amount. Read the article, Saban refused to waive the claim. I am not making the legal argument and I can assure you that I know more about the law that most of the posters attacking this message. So Gumps if it makes you feel better to dodge the real message, go ahead. Guess that's all you got.

What about all the LSU fans who called you a moron?

Staying at Alabama despite offers for the NFL two years ago and the high dollar offers from Tejas really shows his refusal to commit to Alabama doesn't it.

I was thinking the other day, with all the Saban threads started by Auburn fans...we're lacking in threads by LSU fans... Bravo sir.
