Is this counting Mauck winning co-MVP in '01 coming off the bench?

Who cares what they did/do in the NFL...were talking college football...just like Heisman Trophy winners...media/fans so obsessed with how they do in the NFL...the trophy is not a prelude to how someone is going to do in the "League"....a lot of them are not successful at the next level.

LSU won its last two NC with a QB named Matt. It is the downfall of the LSU program not recruiting one QB a year named Matt to keep the bloodline going lol

Astute observation, though I'd say he's more "protected" and "minimized" the position than made it obsolete. It bears repeating that his offense is not so dissimilar from what Miles aspires to. Bama just executes it much, much better.

Another great stat, every time Saban has had a first year QB starting, he won the SEC. Blake Sims was the only one if those first year starters who didn't win a national title.

Every first year QB has won a NC and/or an SEC Championship. AJ won the natty and not the SEC in 2011, for example. Point remains, new QB equals rings in T-town.

This is key. It's such a simple, repeatable system. Just recruit your arse off, stack classes with linemen, and win in the trenches and on defense. If you're an elite recruiter and have the resources to do it, it's genius.

BTW, he's the goat and it's not even close in my book.
