From what I saw, he is spot-on.

I think he was probably spot on as well. That was a long stretch of games, many of them away.

I do not think it is unreasonable to suggest the team was weary.

You do know LSU did physically have a game. It just wasn't official. They practiced for a game and even played half a qtr of one. Had they played a full game I don't believe LSU would be complaning about it. It wasn't like they had a bye though.

Does that make what Saban said untrue?

No, the fact that he chose when the team's bye week would make it pathetic. What makes it untrue is that these are 20-21 year old kids and they should be fine after 6 days, like any other team who hasn't had a bye yet. Bama's play had nothing to do with being tired and everything to do with UT giving them all they could handle.

frick off. Saban is the first coach to ever say his team was tired. Give us a fricking break.

Don't argue. The wieners among the LSU fans will melt no matter what Saban says.

He may be spot on, but it's kind of a dick move to say something like that and not follow it up with giving the other team credit for playing them tough.

Also, I didn't see a hint of fatigue when Bama receivers were making circus catches at the end of the game.

But whatever, make excuses after a win, I don't give a frick.

It is very possible that Bama was looking at that 3 on the right side of the win lose column & thought to themselves we'll just cruise through this one with LSU coming up.

He did say that. So, you got that going for you.

Yahoo Sports - Alabama coach Nick Saban said he could tell his team was getting weary in Saturday's 19-14 win over Tennessee on Henry's 14-yard touchdown with 2:24 left followed by a forced fumble. ''We were tired out there, dead-legged,'' Saban said. ''Didn't look very quick, didn't look very fast. Didn't have a lot of energy like we usually do. I think that's playing eight games in a row."
Doesn't sound like crying or making any excuse to me.

Also, if a team is getting tired, maybe a little more rest during a practice week might be in order. It is the coach's job to have the team ready to play.

If he would have added my second paragraph, he might have not come off to many as a dick. But, I doubt that he cares.

I would cherry pick something Les said and turn it into something devious, but I don't pay attention to what opposing coaches have to say after they play a team other than Bama.

LSU is playing Western Kentucky.

LSU fans bitch and whine about Saban no matter what. I doubt he gives a frick and neither do I. I do appreciate that they watch all his pressers and bring cliffs to the rant. I don't have time to watch that shite.

I think some people are confusing excuses with observations. The team looked tired. That's not taking anything away from Tennessee. He even said they are a "really, really good team" in the post game pressed. People in this thread are seeing Saban and Alabama and looking for reasons to be offended.

About time they've actually had a decent schedule.

But Ole Miss, UTe, Arkie and A&M aren't that good.

Aub, MSU, SC, UF is slightly below but not much.

Doesn't Alabama and LSU schedule their bye on purpose though? So wouldn't that mean Saban chose this?

Saban has always said he likes the bye in the middle of the season. The SEC office sets the SEC schedule. Each team then schedules their OOC games around that. Bama could have had a bye after week one, three, eight or eleven. seems after week 8 is the only logical choice. I'm sure he would rather have it after week 6 but that was not an option.

I think that it's hilarious how much LSU fans have whined over the past how many ever years about scheduling, and when Saban makes a comment about players being tired because of a rigid schedule, they act like he is crazy.

It's one thing when it's the fans. It's another when it's the freakin coach.

LSU fans are not offended by Alabama's poor play, Saban appears be, it was his job to get Bama ready to play a good Tenn team, which a lot of stupid Bama fans refused to acknowledge.

They won the game against a rival and made the plays they needed to in crunch time. How was the team not ready?
