No matter what you say, Bama became history's poster-child for being on the losing end of one of the top 3 college football games of all time. They have been posterized by their most hated rival.
So, the real Boom was experienced by the Bama sideline after Davis finished them off. Not just finished off the game, or even their season, but everything they thought they were or hoped to be under the Saban era. Watch the video of the sideline just after the game, and see the shell-shock on their faces.
