I like how he keeps moving his foot. Then he moves his toes more, as he turns around and looks where the first down marker is. I really hope that was the last game he ever officiated in the SEC. He probably got a raise and a promotion though.

Saban knows the secret is to have the refs over in the mornings for Oatmeal Pies and coffee and to promise them discounts at his Mercedes Dealership that hes finally got. Now thats in effect its about to get a whole lot better for Alabama in the penalty department. We may never be called for holding again.

Did you try to be friends with your father before you killed him, Larry?

Funny how the penalty on the Rebs led to the short kickoff and fumble. No penalty and likely the ball is in the endzone and bama wins.

Funny, under Shula Alabama was consistently very penalized, it's almost like a good coach coaches his players not to commit as many penalties!

What a mind blowing concept.

I guess the refs that called the holding calls that crippled probable game winning drives against Ole Miss this year and Auburn last year didn't get the memo.

I mean, refs miss holding calls all the time, seems odd to call them at a critical moment against the team you're supposed to be helping, seems like a great spot for "missing" one.

It's almost like they saw a hold and just called it, again, mind blowing.

ITT - Audio recording of Saban admitting to buddying up with refs followed by video evidence of refs bumping bama followed by bama fans denying all of it.

I love the internet.

Alabama is currently #73 in penalties per game (fewest penalties first), and 50th in penalty yards against them per game.

Somebody missed a payment this year.

A&M has enough to buy us all right now. It is their fault.

This is just not true. Most judges socialize with lawyers. Do you think they give up all their peer group buddies when they take the bench?

Wrong in the specific example and wrong in the parallel you are trying to make.

Saban - and all SEC coaches - bring SEC refs to officiate scrimmages in spring and fall. They talk to them on their own campuses about rules changes, how they (refs) anticipate the rules being called in games, etc. Every HC in the SEC goes out of his way to make these officials feel welcome when on campus. These guys are treated extremely well and, yes, some have a cordial relationship with coaches across the SEC. You are NOT seeing SEC officials hang out socially with SEC HCs. Doesn't happen and not what Saban meant.
