The real question is why didn't Danny Sheridan tell us about this NCAA insider knowledge?!?!?

Don't worry, in a few years he will have claimed to have predicted right based on his sources.

I don't know why in the world they even let us punish our own compliance office if it's gonna turn out to be inferior. Beats me, but that seems to be how things go with the NCAA.

No because these allegations (thus far) haven't seemed to give us any on field advantage. From the looks of it we had athletes already here and the decision was made to keep them in the hotel. Not a "if you come here we'll let you stay in a hotel for $14 a night"

"From the fall 2009 semester through Feb 2011, Lahn had impermissible recruiting contacts with and provided recruiting inducements to ___________, then prospective football and track prospective student-athlete. The value of the impermissibly financed visits and inducements provided to ___________ totalled $2,700.00."

Read pages 5 and 6. Recruiting inducements and violations by coaches. Paid dinner cruises.. etc.

We knew this already, and I thought they'd already punished the University by reprimanding the NCAA compliance officer. Guess they aren't done

Nope, you are about to lose scholarships and go on probation.

I guess they've gotten into the business of establishing values for things too. We were "punished" with a minor infraction for having peanut butter and jelly at an athletic conference featuring athletes because the rules say schools can't have condiments. Just bagels.

Spurrier shouldn't have been so outspoken about players needing to be paid.

Since they let Ohio State off with a slap on the wrist they have to punish someone to shift the focus away from that one. Sucks for South Carolina. I really thought Boise would be the only to catch fallout with their bogus penalties.
