Carl Lawson is talented, but with his injuries and lack of production I don't see how he is even in the conversation for the best D lineman in the SEC.

Yeah I guess I should have put a disclaimer "when healthy" but watching him he seems to make a huge impact when he's on the field.

I understand he's been held back due to injury, but there is no way he's unanimously the best defensive end in the SEC, let alone the best d-lineman in the SEC.

I think Lawson had one tackle in the Georgia game. Good player, but I seriously doubt he has the skill set to light up Alabama's oline, regardless of motivation.

Never heard of Ryan Kelly either.
Lawson will eat up whoever is trying to block him. Lawson made the kick 6 possible as a true freshman as well.

I doubt these comments have any impact, but you can bet the house if Lawson gets a sack, you will hear the announcers bring it up.
I mentioned it on a different thread, but (and this is just mo) the Alabama Oline is not a strength of the team. I have thought they were pretty inconsistent this year. Now that defense is amazing, and the Henry is a beast, but I have seen the Oline underperform --- maybe because of injury to Cam?

Cam has been back to his old self since the pre-LSU bye week. However, Jackson sucks and Pierschbacher makes freshmen mistakes.
For the most part they have been better since LSU, especially in the penalties/stupid mistake department, but they are not some massive elite O-line. They are good but not great.

If you read the entire quote he was being complimentary but some will only use part of it to fit what they want.
