But if the NCAA had the balls the could easily hammer Bama way harder than they're about hammer Ole Miss. They could easily get enough to shut down the whole Bama program and wouldn't even have to spend years investigating like they did in Oxford.
It won't happen though. Maybe after Saban leaves they'll wait a couple years for things to clear Saban and pin some shite on the next guy. Not anytime soon though... it would be refreshing to see a little justice in the world, but unfortunately that's not how the world works

Can confirm the rumors. I was pumping gas at a store downtown yesterday and heard two old fellas talking about this at the pump beside me.

Over the past decade, there are plenty of strings the NCAA could pull on with Bama. It's pretty laughable really, and I'm not one of these charger conspiracy theorists. Bama has a ton of overzealous boosters and several such incidents have come to the forefront with no interest by the NCAA.
Anyone who thinks the NCAA has any willingness to go after Alabama is being ridiculous.

FWIW I don't think Alabama is doing some orchestrated cheating like Ole Miss. Well, let me clarify. Alabama (and similarly situated schools, Auburn included) probably expect that certain boosters will take certain steps and they really don't have to have any involvement in it. I'm sure coaches and AD staff know that to some extent, and don't actively try to stop it.
For the most part, I also don't think Alabama and similar schools rely on this shite to land recruits. I imagine top recruits know they'll be taken care of, at least to some extent, regardless of where they land. The cheating I'm talking about is just fulfilling those expectations, it's not pitching 180k to a recruit for a signature.

Our board "superiors" don't allow any rumor threads now, but by God when something happens to Auburn, they get a stickied thread with over 30,000 posts. And no Auburn fans were allowed to argue or create counter arguments with the tinfoil hat crew within the thread or they would be banned (that actually happened). Pitiful.
