It wasn't money. It was a sack of Mutant Mass.

This smells like bullshite initially but unless the Homestead coach comes out and denies there was money offered it's going to be awful telling.

I know Gus and co would probably agree with this. We had issues with them over Byron Cowart. First he chooses us and his HS coach (whose son was on the UF staff) kept trying to talk him into going to UF, if not more. Secondly, UF was still actively talking and tampering with him basically his entire freshman year at Auburn.

??? Cowart was first committed to UF when Muschamp's crew recruited him, right? Then when Mucshamp got canned and went to AU, he pulled Cowart with him didn't he?

I don't think he committed to anyone until last minute, or if he did he was uncommitted all of November-Feb. he chose us on national TV and there was a big stink that the HS coach was causing issues. The coach claimed Cowart signed 2 letters and was still undecided even after committing on TV. The fax was held up for one reason or another and there were a ton of rumors about why. Cowart eventually tweeted out he had only signed the Auburn letter and it was being faxed in. The rumor on one side was that the coach wouldn't fax the letter in and that his son, who was UFs DB coach was trying to flip cowart after he committed. The UF side claimed Cowart was undecided and was thinking of signing with UF.

Once he got on campus, they didn't stop their contact with him, and I know it was a pretty big bone of contention within our staff and AD

It's not that they are powerless, they just have no balls.

I wonder if the NCAA investigators will enjoy Gainesville as much as they have oxford. I doubt it.

Delete, was on wrong Homestead High page... Continuing to research. In the meantime it did get run with here (not exactly a bastion of credibility):
LINK /

But, the original Twitter account that is referenced appears to be gone, and the SDS page that was referenced has been deleted or relocated.

A.B. Ward is likely Ahmad Ward, the head coach of the program, and I find it highly unlikely that the twitter quotes are made up, particularly with the account now deleted in the wake of what may have been a mess.

It's just part of the process.

All just a misunderstanding it was a loan not pay to play. Assistants will be fired and nothing will ever come of it.
