Meh, I try to avoid all that. I hope he stays awhile. Seems to drive CLM to perform better, have better teams.

That's exactly what I was picturing. But now since he's a veteran, instead of a bunker, I just changed it to his basement.

I agree with this 100%. Sometimes I wonder if there would be a difference in all time wins for LSU if they had had a more competitive in-state rival.

My own best guess is sentimentality and loyalty will have nothing to do with Saban's staying or leaving. If he gets the right terms on a deal he wants, he'll kiss your asses goodby before you know it.
Well that settles it then. 8 years removed and Tigers are still the expert on Sabanism.
Still hoping and praying he'll leave. Still forgetting the fact your program was in shambles when he arrived.
Your record is 3-3 against AL since Saban arrived. That is quite good from an LSU perspective I'm sure since LSU overall is 25-46-5 versus Bama.
.500 is a marked improvement.

Coach Bryant was the GOAT, no doubt.

Nah, just the reality since the Bear retired 30 years ago.

as you noted.

Is that what Rob Ezell says in his impersonation of Coach Saban. I always thought it was he's going to sit and watch the ducks frick in the yard. No matter, I have to play that video at least monthly and get a good laugh

I can't imagine Saban leaving the best gig in college football for one of the worst in pro football. He tried something similar to this a few years back and it didn't work out so well for him. Now he's just 8 years older and 8 years closer to retirement. Not the ideal time to make a big career move.

No way, with AJ's broken neck and all, why would he stay?

Sabans failure in Miami burns deep within his soul. He wants to right that failure. Especially after watching Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh have success. He's just waiting for the right opportunity.
It will be his last coaching job.

I think the new Iphone5 has an app that lets you coach while at another team... #applenomics

I heard Manchester United is going to offer Saban, it's the only Football team that he hasn't been rumored to yet.
You know this isn't true. He was briefly mentioned regarding Penn State (because of his own statements in the past), but the mess they have and the money they don't have, plus the timing killed all of that. The Texas story had legs, and will again, should he not take an NFL job after this season. That one is almost certainly about the contract size (~$100 million for 10 years - I'd take, you'd take and Saban will take it, all other things being equal).
As far as pro jobs - he interviewed for an NFL job (and no college jobs) EVERY YEAR he was at LSU after the first year. He has long-time connections and relationships with several organizations, including the Bears, Patriots and Browns.
I do not think it is highly likely - so many things would have to fall into place - but this Cleveland job is definitely in play. Factors other than money may enter into it, perhaps an option for a future ownership stake in the team, just a number of things may enter into it.
Haven't you asked yourself, "Why doesn't he have a buyout clause, because that would be worth more money every payday?" You may not like it, but Saban is always thinking about the next 3 moves (or potential moves).

If I was Coach Saban I would stay as long as AJ has time left just to see the old lady's tits jumping up and down in the stands

Ignoring the rest of the crap, what success has Carroll and Harbaugh had? Won some games? Carroll's only in the NFL because he hightailed it from USC before the NCAA could hammer him.

This is not the same franchise from when he coached for the browns. The only connections he has to the current browns franchise is the name cleveland browns, any of those "connections" or "history" with the browns have moved on to baltimore. A lot people seem to forget that the entire franchise/team picked up and left Cleveland

Mike and Mike (Cowherd was filling in) seemed to suggest Saban to Dallas. Seems like a horrible idea with the Jerry Jones' influence, but there is no doubt his name is coming up much more.

What is his name and his business? I'll give him the business if he wants.
He may not appreciate me giving his personal info out over the internet. I'll just say that he is the sales manager for the New Orleans/BR Louisiana region of his company which has offices in nearly every state. I don't want to give the impression that he has a problem with the area. He's a smart college sports fan and takes the rivalry with LSU in stride and gets more amused with the up and down schizophrenic nature of LSU fans towards their head coach/team. He and his wife very much enjoy living in the New Orleans area and like what they do and who they work with.

yeah, He'd prob be better somewhere like Miami.
Saban's gone, pay raise for 2 years until LSU offers him DB coach position and CLM becomes his mentor.
