You don't do a mid season firing without already having your replacement locked up. If you do and don't already have your coach you have to go the interim route which can have all sorts of negative effects on your team and recruiting.

I was pretty sure they'd let him finish out the season then quietly let him go while they'd already quietly started the coaching search.

I just don't buy that they call a news conference mid-season to fire a coach two years removed from a national title the day after his mother dies.

Of course my wife will gladly tell you how I'm wrong all the time. That lousy bitch

Auburn is at rock bottom and firing Chizik now will do more good than harm. I certainly hope these guys are not joking about the press conference rumor.

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that I heard about this 4 pm presser at work today, but I thought the guy was joking too

The bad news is that he said there was booster support to bring Malzahn in.

Dude, STFU. When Saban hears about this he will bail to Cleveland first thing in the morning and your bowels will spontaneously burst forth blood as your sphinter will be no match for the size of the Cock on this guy. AU fixin to run shite for the next 20 years in the SEC. I never saw this coming...

I think that would be a terrible mistake. We need to stick to an offense for once. I'd like to stay with a pro-style offense as long as we find the right guy (Petrino) to run it.

Emergency Booster Meeting

Say that out loud and then ask yourself if, in 2012, that even sounds logical. Imagine air quotes over "emergency".

Come on, dude. Get it together. These types of decisions are made by 2-3 people who can meet at someone's house, conference call, Skype, video conference, etc. There is no need for an "emergency" meeting. Also, what has changed since Saturday to require "emergency" meeting? Was there a meeting today that has been planned since Saturday? Now we're getting somewhere closer to reality.

He did pretty well before at Auburn.

now if MaroonNation is right about the guy he thinks is coming, then college football as we know it is over.

We're talking about a defensive juggernaut with a malzahn or petrino offense.

Wait for it. Savor it. I'm already preparing to jump off the Bama bandwagon behind this shite.

Thank goodness we're in the east. I'd hate to have to go up against what is brewing on the plains every year. Rotation will be bad enough.
