Kramer knew SEC basketball was on its last leg with only one basketball power house in Kentucky. He added the SWC's most dominant bb program, Arkansas and had the vision of USC being the top bb team of the future. Both programs showed promise in other big 3 sports, especially baseball and football.
Slive looked at the SEC and thought it needed more diversity, so he reached out to the lgbtq community and aTm topped their list with MIZZOU a close second. MIZZOU would also be the tip of the spear for the great SJW experiment.

4 NCAA appearances in 25 years. There was a 13 year gap between this year and the last one.
All in all this sounds like Arkansas trying to dickride USC's final four. 1996 was a long time ago.

Kramer had his days, early on, when he actually ran the league office. Towards the end, however, he was know to take a nap or two during the day, long ones, leaving the running of the office to a fellow red jacket wearing #2. At times over the years, a bama alum. He was a figure head at the end.

Agree 100% with OP. Kramer was the visionary. Slive just didn't screw up, but failed to keep The SEC as a trend setter. Unfortunately the quality of commissioning is trending the wrong way. Current guy isn't good at his job.
