I see logic has no place in your ability to reason. Both parts of the statement contradict Rod's own reasoning that would favor Okie Light over Alabama. Rod cut the legs out from under his own argument only a few moments after making it.
Side note: No, I do not expect LSU to drop the game to UGA.

How? LSU's resume, even with a loss in the SEC CG would be better than Bama's, so he is completely right.
They'd be a division winner, have more wins, a head to head win over Bama AT BAMA, and the debate would be between them both.
He did not contradict himself whatsoever. He didn't say a non-conference champion shouldn't go. He claimed the inherent unfairness LSU is facing by having to play the SECCG while Bama has the week off.
He said that he simply thinks you should actually evaluate resumes once the season is over rather than claim "Bama is #2" based off preconceived notions and the close loss to LSU.

Ok, so you would take the possition that if LSU lost to UGA then OSU should be in the BCSCG instead of LSU? I for one do not.

Unfair? Perhaps, but when did the SEC Championship become just a stepping stone to the National Championship game? LSU gets a chance to play for the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP! That in and of itself is a great honor. No one should be upset that they HAVE to play for the SEC Championship. It is something to strive for and be proud of.
I would love it if the roles were reversed and Bama had a chance to add another one.
Gilmore does not understand that. To him, it's just another game that doesn't matter anymore than the previous twelve.
