That's what I read. I can't tell you if the article was Heavy.com or espn but that was initial reports. I couldn't believe that, either. At that point you just hit the gas and gtfo of dodge. Unless he approached McKnight's car from an angle that made it difficult to spot him.

That really makes me nervous, man. I drive a Jeep, and the last thing I ever think to do is lock the door.

This is why we no longer go to New Orleans for anything. The murders that go on there are routine. And they are not scared of the police either. The thugs are everywhere.

It was a white person in a suburb on the West Bank. Who exactly is "they"? And why is this a New Orleans incident rather than any of the idiotic road rage incidents with dumb guys in any other city?

Ignorant people drive me fricking nuts.

Who memtioned race? You did. And for the record New Orleans is full of thugs. There is a reason the murder rate is so damn high.

Gosh I hate ignorant people.

I think most people know that "thug" is generally a word that implies race. Were you talking about all people in New Orleans, the ones who carry guns regardless of race? Or were you talking about people who just choose to shoot people in road rage incidents? Because my question is what separates them from people in other cities who do the same? Certainly you understand that not all violent crime in cities is the same.

I'm certainly not ignorant. I have an acute understanding of the crime rate in New Orleans. But I do think people that make sweeping statements about entire cities are quite ignorant. It's no different than a black person deciding he doesn't want to go to Mississippi because of the racists.

Joe McKnight was murdered by an older guy on the westbank. I'm not saying your logic doesn't apply in general, but to say this is the reason you don't come is beyond stupid.

I live in Mississippi and I don't see all this racism you claim. In fact, both races get along just fine. Stop reading so much media. It shows you've been indoctrinated in your perceptions via hollywood movies etc too. Get a life.

Ignorant statement. Mississippi has a large black population and they are not fleeing the state nor is it keeping them from coming. Once again you toss out a blanket statement with ZERO facts to back up statistics.

Let me add this for what its worth. In places like Chicago or Detroit or even New Orleans, it wouldn't be politically correct to actually use crime data in your world because that too would be racist.

Jackson Ms is now going through the same thing. All one needs to do is watch local evening news with photos of who the police are looking for. Does speaking truth matter anymore? Or should we ignore it.

When a state trooper was killed some years back on 55, the reinactment of the criminals were white despite fact the murderers were black. This is political correctness at its finest and I don't know how on earth that helped a potential witness.

Furthermore, when there is a drive by shooting, I am SURE your own first thoughts are that it must be 3 white guys. You yourself know thats not what you think so therefore you are a racist.

Is this how it is for you? From my experience, its the awful driver who is doing the raging when he gets called out for said shite driving.

Doesn't mean you have to be stupid back.

Had a dad out where I live respond to a stupid driver honking and his girl was killed in her child seat by a gun shot.

I wonder if he thinks he should not have worried about a guy honking or flipping him off?

What do you think.

You obviously missed my point. I was referring to all road rage regardless of party doing it.

Pretty sure you missed my point. Simply honking at a crap driver is not road raging.

And if it's found that the cops let this guy go without a good reason then the people of New Orleans have every right to get pissed over that. Way too often our media wants instant answers and instant gratification. The real world doesn't work that way. According to eyewitness accounts, Gasser stood over the victim, Joe McKnight, and said, "I told you don't f**k with me", at which Gasser fired the gun again at the victim. Now if the truth is within that witness statement right there, you can't find a single reason why the cops would let that guy go. That defines homicide in legal terms, now to what degree is debatable. First degree is unlikely, as they just met during a traffic confrontation. Murder 2 is the most logical, but still no reason to let the guy go under his own recognizance. Ridiculous.

Yea I can't believe they let him go sleep in his bed. When the other man is in a Morg.

I seen on twitter guy that was behind both of them. Said McKnight cut him off without contact then suspect caught back up at intersection. Then the altercation happen.

Some people just can't let stuff go. He didn't even have a wreck.

The guy should be charged and not been released.
Only way I can see this happening is if at Red light while they argue. Mcknight got out threatened him and the suspect stood his ground. But I've seen reports he pulled Mcknight out of his car. Also with Mcknight apologizing doesn't seem likely.

I just read an article a few days ago on the anniversary of Sean Taylor's death. Now this shite. There aren't many things just about everyone can agree on, but this recent increase in senseless violence needs to stop. Or else we'll have more stories like this one. A dispute over cars is not an excuse to take a human life. RIP
