I've never understood why southerners say this to other southerners.

I was trying to think of a clever something to make fun of bama fans, but it's late and I'm drunk (on vacation) and I just took the easy way out. I agree with you though.

Same with calling one fat, poor, and stupid. If anything we should uplift each-other to the point that northerners get annoyed.

I wish there were state-specific insults that didn't apply to the entire south in general. I guess there are, but I don't wanna bring gov. George Wallace into the conversation when I can get attacked for the Scopes monkey trial you know?

I'm gonna stop you right there. 9 of their 11 national titles occurred before the Poll Era. Almost all of them are retroactive. At least Alabama has 10 that are not retro at all.

Yeah, as much as I'd like to claim 11 National Titles, I don't. In fact, not many Michigan fans do.

However, I do claim Michigan as National Champions in 1973 (at least a share or co-champions). I'd love to throw the '92 team in there as well, but with 3 ties...it's just too much. The dreaded tie has not been too favorable for the Maize and Blue.
