Please check this out. Let me know if true or not about Austin Texas and the surrounding areas in Texas.

Our family has a place in Austin. So I can speak to this a little bit.

Most of that stuff is about people moving to and living in Austin. Not so much about visiting.

To my way of thinking it is a good place to go for the non football vacationing things...

But if you are looking for the traditional intense college football fever surrounding a typical college town on game weekend... it just isn't there for most games. It will be interesting if an SEC schedule ramps that up.
I will admit that I was never down there when the LSUs, Alabamas and Notre Dames played there... But I have been down there on other football weekends and it just isn't the same as a typical college town as far as energy surrounding the actual game.

Austin is a shithole. A product of UT liberals and Democratic leftists. Rampant homelessness, street crime and drug usage all over the city especially including the 6th street area. The natural beauty of the city was ruined decades ago by out of state developers. It’s only attractive to California leftists fleeing their shithole state.

Comical list. Move to the Texas equivalent to, say, La Jolla, then complain about the cost. Also, most of what he is complaining about is the direct result of an overly invasive, very socialist city government. He should have tried the suburbs.

Oh yeah it's a terrible place. Please don't come. For some strange reason we have a huge increase in population every year. It's probably because it's a homeless haven, shithole of a town. Go back to your trailer park in the south.

This. My first Texas game was top 10 AU vs top 10 UT. To say the intensity was lacking is a gross understatement.

The Alabama game atmosphere was amazing. It's hard to get up for a BIG12 schedule. Looking forward to the SEC.

Knoxville and the surrounding areas are the biggest draws, but what does the cesspool that is Austin have to do with it?

Stevie Ray Vaughan is dead. Absolutely no use to go to Austin.

I’ve been to Austin. Nice town but your homeless encampments are out of control.

MotoGP is one of the most incredible sporting events in the world. It’s worth going for that. SXSW & ACL have been ruined.

Nashville is number 1. The visiting team always outnumber the home team. Where else do you have that?
