The question was why can't Richt and Murray WIN the big games?

Because Bama tipped the pass at the end?

What the frick is Richt supposed to say? "Oh, well, I guess we're just not good enough and Carolina should have been playing here instead "?

Get real. Oliver is an Aubie radio guy, works with a Tech radio guy, and he asked an inflammatory question so (answered or not) they have something to chew on on Monday

When it happens a lot, patterns are noticed. I didn't say he should have asked the question then, but it's a valid question.

Sorry that got your panties in a wad. Wait, no I'm not.

CO is a wuss and the worst radio homer ever. Good for Mark, team played one of the best SECCGs ever and in no way choked. Led late and had a chance to win and play for NC - great game UGA.

What an ahole time to ask that question. Right after an emotional game. If he had any class, he would have waited a few days and had him on his show.

So what you're saying is he tickled the sand in Richt's vagina. Got it.

How is it a valid question?

His question was: "alot of people will say that you and your QB are incapable of winning big games? can you expound on that?"

How is Mark Richt supposed to comment on what "alot" of people think. Alot of people includes you and I on message boards, which Mark Richt doesn't need to address at all.

A valid question would have been: I noticed that you are 1-10 against Top ten competition since 2008. Can you address how you and your QB Aaron Murray can never seem to get over the hump against top level competition?

Own the question, don't hide behind "alot" of people are saying something so you need to address it. That is why it was addressed by Mark Richt the way that is was. If Chuck had owned up to what he was asking and been professional about it, Richt would have not had any problem addressing the issue. Richt has never been one to hide from any question put forth to him by the media that covers the Bulldogs.

Reporters are supposed to ask hard questions and not just throw softballs at them. It was a legit question and the reporter should man up and say, yes I'm asking you that question. The reporter backed down.

Now that's funny coming from you. Spurrier, and I like him, is the biggest presser baby of all time.

That is why I said that Richt would have been glad to answer his question had he put it to him. As stated, Richt has never backed down from hard questions from media. I have watched many Richt press conferences and he has been asked this question in many different variations, but he wants reporters to ask their questions, not speculate on what "alot" of people are saying.

And yes, Chuck backed down from Richt because Chuck is a mental midget. Nothing more.

It's not a valid question. If it were phrased more along the lines of: You and your teams have experienced a lot of hard losses in big games the past few years, how do you as a coach address big games like this in the future?

That is a hard question worth asking in the right way. Instead, Oliver pawns it off on "a lot of people, but not me" and asks Richt to basically just talk about how he and a specific player seem to struggle in big games.

First of all, you're the reporter, you have the floor, own the damn question if you're going to ask it.

Second of all, unless you are asking about a player's health and well-being, it is never a good idea to specifically drag a college player into a negative-based question during a HC press conference after a very emotional game.

I appreciate your sympathies, my friend. But, alas, life goes on. Woke up this morning next to my girl and, god willing, I'll wake up next o her tomorrow before going to work.

Can't say this one doesn't smart though.

He used that to not ask he question. He was over reacting to the question thinking the reporter was saying his players didn't play hard. He even came back as made the point that his players played hard, which no one was saying.

Richt got his feelings hurt which in those circumstances is pretty hard not to do.

Saban has been known to chew out reporters also. But asking him why he's not been competitive in certain situations would probably not get that negative of a reponse. The reason being that he would already had been thinking about it and would have probably given a great response instead of trying to avoid the question.

There is a time and place for that question but not 20 minutes after UGA lost its biggest game in 20 years on a last second play at the 5 yard line against a heavyweight opponent.

And if you are going to ask the question, don't hide behind "other people." Why should Richt answer the question of an invisible person? If this reporter wants to ask a question like that he needs to grow a pair and ask it like a man. Class move by Richt and I am glad to see him put that reporter in his place.

Monticello and others get it. CNB...come on man, UGA is our hated rival too...but lay off them for at least a day or so.

The reporter is jizwad for asking a question like that...trying to hide behind the question and Richt dressed him down like he should have, however...if it had been me...I would have walked up to ahole and stuck that coke can up his azz. These f'ing media types like that are sewer holes and have never done anything in their life and are jealous of others....they spew negative crap and stir the pot.

If I had been there and was a reporter...I would ask why did UGA seem to abandon the run game? Thats a question that needs to be answered...and I guarantee I wouldnt have said "there are people who "

Glenn Guilbeau took a lot of heat for asking Miles why he did not bench Jefferson after last year's BCS title game, but at least he did not hide behind the question by saying "A lot of my callers tomorrow will ask why you did not bench Jefferson. Would you like to respond to my hypothetical question by my hypothetical callers?"
