After Brooks told a Hamilton County judge last month that he hadn't paid child support because his illiteracy prevented him from holding a good job, Auburn president William Muse offered to help Brooks overcome his learning problems.

He invited Brooks back to Auburn to finish his bachelor's degree as part of the "Operation Follow-Through" program, in which athletes who leave for sports careers can return tuition-free. A dozen graduates of the program include Bo Jackson, who played in the NFL and major league baseball.

When asked by the judge how he graduated from Auburn,

Looks like Mr. Brooks isn't the only one who can't read.

Let me speak pokemon language for you

If that's correct, then I guess I got schooled in that exchange, but I had always heard he never actually got his degree in earnest. I knew his story of course, and knew he was a crip case, but I never heard he actually graduated. If so, serves me right for popping off about Foster :^D

That's what I always heard.

The federal judge actually never said he graduated. He assumed he did, and he was incorrect

He didn't graduate. He attended Auburn, but left after his Jr. year.

Take it up with the Associated Press. Their word carries more than a random internet poster who admitted to RA'ing me multiple times.
