Would you write up a summary of the team's players, strengths and weaknesses, and a game plan for Creighton like I did for the Bluejays, please? It doesn't have to be as long or in-depth as mine was.

Can't put in the time to make up a summary...but here are some points I think stand out.

Averaged .339 on 3s for the season. Shot .120 vs Texas and still won. Since the start of February, they have played 14 games and shot over 50% on 3s in 5 of those games. They have averaged .347 on 3s during that stretch...they have shot below .300 in 4 of those games, and 2 of their 3 losses they amassed during that stretch are among those 4 games.

So...it is rare for them to shoot as poorly from the perimeter as they did against Texas...and 3s dropping (as it usually does), influences the outcome.

Creighton is ranked #51 in opponent 3 point percentage...but Texas was ranked #158 in this category...so, I guess you can throw those stats away when it comes to the win or go home climate of the tournament.

Another interesting tidbit with Dalton Knecht...

He has hit 2 or fewer 3 pointers in 17 of Tennessee's 34 games...In those 17 games, UT is 15-2...so, if there is a perception that Knecht needs to be hitting 3s for Tennessee to win, it is not accurate.

How many PPG is he averaging? Serious question. If we can shut him down, can the other Vols make up for it, or is Tennessee screwed?

21.1 ppg

Actually...in some of his highest scoring games...UT lost.

He had 40 against Kentucky, 31 against South Carolina, 28 against Mississippi State (the first game), and 37 against North Carolina. UT lost all of those games...

...he had 13 in a Win over Alabama, 16 when UT beat Kentucky at Rupp and 8 in a 26 point win over Ole Miss.

Oh. So, we should let him have free rein and not let anyone else score? Thank you for providing that info.

Texas basically shut him down until the very end..

Based on the stats posted above ^^ you are better off letting him get his so that no one else gets a rhythm going..

That's a crazy thought, man.

Are you also a Vols fan? If so, question for you (and other Vols): Which Bluejay do you think is the most important to limit offensively?

He also scored...

...39 in a win against Auburn, and 39 in a win against Florida.

OK, I'm thinking we should just keep him scoreless. The rest of the team won't outscore the grenade launchers.

Nope.. most definitely not.

Going into the game, I figured he was the key as I hadn't really watched TN at all this year. He didn't do really anything against us.. their defense was just smothering.. all.. game.. long..

So we turned the ball over a lot.. took a lot of bad shots.. just didn't have the dudes to get the W.. but the W was there for the taking.. they are beatable.

Texas turned the ball over a lot (17)...but Tennessee had quite a few as well (11). Creighton is the worst team in the country (362nd) in defensive turnovers per game 7.7, and Tennessee is pretty good (61st) at 13.2.

Creighton has played one team this season that is higher ranked than Tennessee in defensive turnovers (Marquette #21...14.7 per game), and they split with them. A lot could depend on how Creighton handles Tennessee's defense. When Creighton beat Marquette, they had 7 turnovers and so did Marquette...when Marquette beat Creighton...Creighton had 18 turnovers and Marquette had 13.

What about fouls? Creighton's very good at not fouling, but they aren't superb at cashing in on FTs. How's Tennessee in that area?

Creighton is better than "very good"...they are #1 in the country in not fouling...and Tennessee is #220 at 17 fouls per game.

In their most recent games, Creighton had 12 against Oregon...Tennessee had 15 against Texas.

Now...how good are they at making their opponent foul them?

Tennessee is #71 with opponents averaging 18.3 fouls per game. Texas committed 16 in their most recent game.

Creighton is #342 with opponents averaging 14.8 fouls per game. Oregon committed 14 in their most recent game.
