Both sources spoke on the condition of anonymity, and NFL Draft Monsters has a policy of not compensating sources in any way for stories.

That's so gay man. If you're gonna act like your the coolest guy around and be the guy to tell info like this, then be man enough to grow a pair and stand behind your info. Reveal yourself! Just like the whole Cam Newton deal with all these unnamed sources. Freakin' douchebags!

Known him since he went to HS in Texarkana. Yes, he smoked a little pot, but never touched the coke shite.

RM doesn't have a GD substance abuse problem. Incredible what these kids on the Rant will believe.

Story is obviously false. Mentions coke and weed, but no meth

mallett likes coke that's a fact.

I figured they would be much more concerned about his skank dependance than his weed dependance, yo

A college kid smoking weed or buying the occasional 8 ball of coke doesn't bother me, as long as they're just snorting it like god intended(not smoking or slamming). I guess the occasional primo is ok.

I don't do drugs anymore, but if you've never got on a good coke binger, well, you're missing out.

My thing with drugs is...who cares? It's their body. Who are we to tell them what they can do with it?

If your problem hampers your performance, you lose a lot of money. If you(like me) are capable of ingesting all the drugs you want, and are still an asset? Who cares?

Apparently Walterfootball.com isn't...

Round 2 Pick 6 (#38 Overall): Arizona Cardinals: Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas

A couple of months ago, I listed Ryan Mallett in the second round of my 2011 NFL Mock Draft, citing major character concerns I knew about that would eventually surface.

Well, nothing surfaced, so I put Mallett back in the first round, assuming my source was wrong. Lo and behold, NFL.com's Albert Breer wrote two weeks ago that "off-field concerns" will hurt Mallett's draft stock. A couple of months late, but better late than never, I guess.

Mallett has major red flags. In addition to these "off-field concerns," he's a moron who may score single digits on his Wonderlic (even if they give him five points for spelling his name correctly). His release is painfully slow (think Byron Leftwich). He has no mobility. And he has the same sense of entitlement as Matt Leinart and Jimmy Clausen.

Having said all that, there will be several teams interested in the second round, including the Bengals and Cardinals. Both teams have a history of ignoring character concerns, and Ken Whisenhunt may see Mallett as just too physically talented to pass up. And I couldn't really blame him at this juncture.

I guess I'll trust McGhee who says that Mallet's release is quick, especially for a guy his size.

Mallet has lots of issues, this isn't one of them.
